Plus dont' think its' going to randomly mix up your ATB and your Ray Charles, it has a very smart pre-programable playlist software. I mean, it knows what you like to hear in the mornings, in the afternoons, on weekends. Very cool. |

I personally think it is worth the extra $100-$120 to get a 20g compared to the mini. I know so many people who have filled up the mini in no time. I think if you are to spend a few hunfred dollars...whats another 100 to get the most out of the product. Had I bought a mini...I would have returned it already for more memory. If I was concerned with size and bulk (i'm not)...I'd consider a shuffle for the gym. But I use my Ipod way more than that. I also use it in my car instead of a cd player. The Itrip works great it most places. A little static here and there but i can live with that. Im going to see if the Monster fm transmitter is clearer. |

iPod's rule just cuz there was this huge boom when they hit the market for assesories. so the optional toys you can add onto your ipod is great, pricey but fun to customize. still for a kid who doesnt work fulltime, school perhaps, spending over half of the $400 price tag on a Shuffle would be a smarter option.

it seems like its going to be a random mix of all your favorite tracks dont get me wrong yes its very neat I just think the idea of no control is kind pointless all mp3s and discmans come with a rondom option I still love my mini Ipod (cept the battery) Ipods are more fashion anything else these things will do so well just because of the Ipod name even though the functions are lacking (from what I see anyways) |

They announced price and model changes today, a 4 GB iPod mini at C$249, plus a 6 GB, and 30/60 GB versions of the photo iPod which has colour screen. They still have the 20 GB iPod but discontinued the 40.

it all depends on how many pictures you want to store and how many mp3s you have aswell as for the 20G 4G thing I have no problem with the smaller size frankly I like it more mines only 3/4 the way full and I dont plan on putting much on there anytime soon I guess for my own personal needs 20 G was jsut too much needless space plus I needed the warentee (for the battery flaw) and a case so I dont fuck this thing up when I drop it |

everything is much easier to read I havent seen it with photos cause well I never installed them on any of them but the menu looked pretty sharp you must think it just eats through the battery |

!
the only time my ipod ever seems to drain the battery is when i use it in my car with the itrip. Thankfully I also bought the extended warranty if it starts to drain really fast.
To each their own. What might work for me might be not practical for someone else. My brother has a 40g...I could never fill that! |

there are alternative to this 'starbuck nation' of tendy gadgits and sleek outter appeal. if your not the average buyer a little hunting turns up a world of option. |

I'll take an apple product build over sony anyday, I was looking at the Sony's the and wasn't impressed at all, long gone are the days frills and gimmicks satisfy me :) At anyrate I've seen and played with all the ipods, including the shuffle. The shuffle option is turned on via a switch in the back, it CAN and does play songs in the order you put them based on a pre made playlist. The shuffle is nice for people riding bikes, jogging etc, its just a nice sleek piece of hardware.
I myself have a 20g with a kca-420 ipod controller for my alpine head unit in my car. I don't need cd's anymore in my car, i can control my ipod from my car deck, hell the alpine logo even apears on my ipod when its plugged in. |

like every single one I sold got returned or exchanged for an Ipod the transfer rate is too slow as for alternatives to the minis yes there are good ones Rio Carbon is not nearly as good as the Ipod but its an alright model of Mp3 player the Zen Touch is considered to be better than the Ipod mini because it has FM radio as well as an interchangable batter but when it comes to massive hard drive units not much can compare to the Ipod for transfer rate and quality |

with that in mind the Ipod shuffle wouldnt be a bad idea bt I still think there are better alternatives to that unit |
