Promoters Etiquette – What do you think of this situation?

Solid Corporation has been pushing the scene to another level for the past 2 years and this is the first time we have seen this kind of outrageous behavior. We were very disappointed to see how our Insomnia flyers were all thrown on the ground and than see Godspeed flyers on the cars instead. Ironically, our friends who left the club early called us to go the parking lot ASAP as they saw two “brown” guys who were putting up Godspeed flyers and were throwing Insomnia flyers on the ground. Hence, we were walking as fast as possible to see if this was true. As we walk up the parking lot we see the Unconscious Brothers representative Harp & Kamal in their car about to leave. Talk about perfect timing. We go up to them and say our hellos and they tell us their just checking up – than they drive off immediately. We walk around to double check on our flyers and they were all on the ground. We were obviously upset hence we called them immediately to ask them what happened to our flyers. We met them up at the intersection of Cordova/Abbott and asked them why are all our flyers on the ground and their response was – “Our cousins probably threw them on the ground and we are sorry.” If we recall, the time correctly, it was at 2:45am and we were wondering in our heads – why would you check up on your flyers (who were flyer by your cousins) at such a late time? They’re your cousins and why would you need to check up on them? Lastly, why would you want to drive off so quickly after you seeing the Solid Corp promoters without an explanation until we asked for one? They didn’t even explain to us about the flyers till we called them for one.

As a result of this, we told Harp and Kamal to provide a proper explanation about it on the forums before we put our view up. It’s very disheartening to see all of our work for the entire night put in the trash. We question ourselves why would the Unconscious Brothers crew do such a thing? Our shows aren’t even close to each other (March 5 and 19 – literally 3 weeks apart) and even if it were to be close – what harm does it do if there are 2 options for people to choose from? Where is the promoter etiquette? We’re wondering if our other flyers were also taken down in the past too. Flyers are not cheap and they are the most important tool in getting the word out.

We are a professional promotions company hence there is no need for us to retaliate as it could become a vicious cycle. We will do what is the best for the scene and lead as a good example by “forgiving but not to forgetting”. We just hope that this won’t happen again in the future as Solid Corporation puts a lot of time/effort into promoting their events as much as many other. A lot of respect has been lost to the Unconscious Brothers from us.

Agreed. Lost respect for both parties. Settle it among yourself and stop trying to gain favourism within fnk. All it's gonna do is gonna get a stupid debate about how unconscious is wrong or then how solid did something in the past or something.

PS.. Nobody likes flyers on cars anyways. They are gonna be thrown on the ground by the drivers anyways.

I have been trying to call you guys all day, so let me explain why we we're there late, first off my friends that got out of the club had asked us to come to parking lot to meet up to blaze and at the same time we though hey why not go out and check up on our flyers to see what kind of job our cousin did (is that bad in any way), second we had spoken with him and his buddy and he told us that the reason behind all this is simply cause we told him of some rumors that some of our friends at Solid Corp have been spreading around saying that the March 5th show had been postponed and moved to the 19th of March hmmmmm coincedence. That we are mad about. In no way would we the Unconscious Bros go out and do that to you or any other promotions company. Now if we had thrown your flyers on the ground would we have stopped in the parking lot to say hi to you guys let alone jimmy right away telling us their was a car behind us and to move out of the way. So we like ok see you guys later. You called us right away and we said that we would meet up with you guys. We have made a public apology stating what had happened and we are sorry. If you would like to take this off the board and speak to us privately do return our calls or message us back on msn as this does not need to be taken on a board.

so true with the favourism thing on fnk, we know our cousin did wrong so therefore we went public with an apology know why the hell would you stan go and post this on fnk and not return my calls or message me back on msn? IMO very umprofessional in SOLIDS part

i have much to say, but i will keep it short, if you guys wanted to fight dirty, at least do it right, throwing insomnia flyers on the ground and putting godspeeds on the cars? wtf lol. thats just not smart, either way solid would of known who did this.

i am very pleased to hear solid's reaction to this, the fact that they are not planning to start a war (yet i do not know what happens behind the scenes), but in the process obviously they do lose respect for the unconscious bros. yet it is pleasing to hear they do plan to forgive them.

i am glad to hear what solid stated, and maybe it is just only a marketing scam here on fnk, but it did make view solid through respect

Regarding to your post on the March 5th postponed to March 19th, our friends heard different. They heard that March 19th is on March 5th, this is a very open ended discussion. When we approached you last night you didnt bring that up either. So now you respond on the forum with this? Hmmmmmm coincidence.

This could be a result of 2 things:

1- You guys are the unprofessional promoters, who don't know your dicks from your heads.
