As I read this this morning, I feel overwhelmed by the fact that THREE huge rave communities are coming together amoungst themselves to educate the younger/or less knowlegdable party kids in the scene. It's an awesome thing, and as much as the media may try and tear us apart, they can't kill abunch of love. They can't tear us down if all we are trying to do is make our enviornments more safe. With good intentions only, things will eventually work out. I am not sure yet what I will need, but I am so glad to hear that you all believe in this cause too. <3 R.4.E.P. <3 Ravers 4 Educated Plur :) <3 Ashlee |

Either way, just be prepared for a huge fight from local authorities once this gets going. I'm sure it will work on a similar level as it did last time. We'll get the support from promoters and such but security at venues will try to bring it back down, police will give hassle, media will make up half-truth's about what we do. That being said I'm totally down for the fight... we lost last time but I figure with enough determination we may be able to win it out this time. After all, if the city of Vancouver is supportive of a 'treatment' plan that gives heroin users free heroin then how can they come down on a group that seeks nothing more than to educate and keep safe the youth involved in our scene. My 2cents. :) Last edited by Cdn_Brdr; Mar 03, 05 at 10:51 AM. |

Ashley, I think this would be an awesome thing if we could make it work. I think it would be important though to start it within the legal parties. There will be resistance from the city and i don't think underground parties need that attention, especially in the summer/spring seasons, the cops tend to come down on us at that time. Not that it shouldn't be in the underground, it should definatly just not until it's accepted within the legal scene.
You might want to look into the 'Island kids' an organization we have on vancouver island that is much like 'dance safe; their web site is http://www.islandkidz.org, it is an awesome site with great info. best of luck, let me know how I can help |

wow I posted before I read what this was about...I remember the last crew from when I was in high school. Everyone took there shots at them, teachers, parents, comunity members and local authoriteis alike; however, that doesn't mean that it was a bad Idea. MAD PROPS!!! for trying to start tghis up again I think the young people coming into the seen will really apreciate it.

Would it be bad or would it help if you've never really done drugs?
I'm thinking different perspectives is good. But won't people look at it like, "You haven't done shit, don't try to talk to me about it." Either way, I think there are many different ways to help the cause. ... I think I kinda answered my own question. |
