IE or Firefox???

I was just reading my latest issue of WIRED and there is an article in there about the rise of Firefox in the web browser world. According to the article Firefox was dl'd over 1 million times the first day it was released and now holds a 4% share of the web browser market with another 4% being listed as other and of course 92% for good old IE.

They figure that most of the people who are using Firefox are developers, programmers and the anti-M$ demographic. Programmers and the such particularly like Firefox due to the fact that it's open source and already has plenty of mods/plug-ins supplied by developers all over the world.

I was curious as to how many people here have picked up on the Firefox bandwagon??

I've used a lot of browsers including Lynx. Firefox is my browser of choice at the moment.

Firefox ix a lot more reliable than IE, plus it blocks pop-ups and does not have as many loopholes to let hackers in. Ever since I dled firefox I have never wanted to go back... I definitely recommend it.

I use em both. There's something a little clumsy about Firefox keystrokes or something. But I do like the tabbed browsing.

Firefox definitely my browser of choice. It just has less problems then IE over all. And the fact that there's no popups..well thats just the icing on the cake.

^You also have to consider that the younger generation tends to jump on the newer innovations a lot faster than the older one. Older generations tend to go with the 'If it ain't broke don't fix it' mentality.

I'm not surprised that Firefox is taking a landslide win among the users on here at all. If there's one thing I know it's that our generation is tech-savvy and pretty much accepts and wants constant change. If it's new and better we want it.... whether or not the old one is broken doesn't matter... GIMME THE NEW STUFF.

No.

Opera is its own thing. Doesn't have anything to do with Mozilla, Firefox, Thunderbird, etc. etc. etc. It's not open source either. It has binaries available for linux, but they keep the source closed.
