claiming EI
can something claim EI over harassment? lately I've been getting into a beef with a co-worker and its starting to escalate... I don't acknowledge his existance at work, but he's been making insulting comments... the most recent being "go stick a dildo up your ass" as I was leaving work...
so... is it possible to quit and claim EI over this? |

you might not qualify for EI unless you've worked a certain amount of hours.
find out if he has a dead relative then make fun of that.. for example.. if he has a dead mom: guy: go shove a dildo up your ass you: I let your mom borrow it guy: my mom is dead you: Yeah, If i raised a son like you.. i'd shoot myself too. Then he'll shutup and if not.. you: atleast my mom is alive then just keep saying that till he shuts up. |

Marty I love you ...you make me LOL.
Liam, I think receiving EI in your situation is very very doubtful, and if you did it would be a very long drawn out process...... call and explain your situation to the nice people at labour relations board... they will be able to give you all your options :) good luck. |

call the labour board or the unemployement office and explain your situation, they will probably give you a more accurate answer.
have you brought any of this to your managers/HR attention? i can pretty much guarantee that you won't get any help unless you make an attempt on fixing the situation with a higher up first. |

Making fun of people makes the job go by faster at my work. Theres a big hierarchy and the more senior guys make fun and ridicule the younger people's work. Maybe you should just ask the guy what his problem is, or maybe he is just playin around and you have poor social skills.

My boyfriend was just in a similiar situation - except that his ended in the other coworker actually physically assaulting him. He went to talk to EI, and they said he needed to file a greivance report before he could claim EI... unfortunately the process to do so was too confusing, lol. So, we never ended up doing it. So, to make a long story short it is very difficult to get EI to pay for you if you are having issues with other coworkers. Good luck~ ASheai
