In Italy they cancelled every sport event. The serie A games won´t be playing ( teams like Juventus, Inter, Milan.... )
Sympathy for the old man.
what do you think? Is it right to stop events, where athlets who belong to other religions compete as well, because of a catholic ?

Yep. It is.

This isn't about religion. This is about the passing of a great man who made millions (billions?) of people happy. Yes, we will stop a fucking soccer game for that.

Exactly. It's about someone passing away.

If a loved one in a family passes away, they don't still go out to that hockey game they were planning, or that movie, or anything. They get together to honour the one who passed.

No difference in this situation, just a grander scale.

good point!
But IMO it would have been better to pray for three minutes before every sports competition going on this weekend. So everyone would have thought about this great man.

canceling or postponing a game durring a time like this is respectful.

if you are cathlic or not this will affect you.

you cant cancel a game for only some players, so even if the non cathics wanted to play, it cant happen. their request was adressed. the game can be canceled completely as an adressing of the cathlics religion/morel...

remember the pope was alot more influencail over there. if the game went on, many of the fans wouldnt show anyway.

things work differently in europe. more so in italy. did you not see the amount of people in st peters square?
