If you're still mad from cleaning the house, you should re-organize all your drawers - you know, clean up the misc. drawers that are just filled with random junk. Throw away stuff you don't need and donate whatever else to charity.
After that if your mind is still on what was bothering you before, MESS IT ALL UP AND DO IT AGAIN!! You should crack out some good old crayons and do "primitive cave man" drawings of your situation and post them all over the wall and make it into a little story. What's great about this medium is that they're cheap so if you get mad and snap them, it won't cost you an arm and a leg like some other art supplies. Here is a short fill in the blanks exercise: Dear Imaginary Friend, I hate it when ________ does _______. They are being such a (stupid, ignorant, jealous, stuck up, or ____________ ) cunt. I wish I could just shove this ________ so far up their ________ that they bleed fetuses and rectal juice for the rest of their _________ life. It doesn't matter though because they will die a ___________ and ________ death one day. Sincerely, ______________ |

The art of selecting good music when you feel like shit.
First of all, usually your immediate thought is to help yourself with Happy Songs. This can be anything, really.... from Moxy Fruvous' King Of Spain, the Happy Happy Joy Joy song or The Last Saskatchewan Pirate (Arrrrrrrr Metis!). This isn't necessarily the best course. Mainly because eventually the happy songs get associated with the meef you're experiencing, and then they're not so much happy songs anymore, now are they? The important thing to do is first play a song that reflects your current mood, and then come out of it with something that makes you feel better. Take me, for instance. Having a really bad day at work, I'll put on some angry tool type stuff, but I'll follow it up with Outkast or TMBG for a fun edge. Or if I'm just feeling down and miserable, throw on some indie rock (anything whiny works. I like Modest Mouse and Franz Ferdinand) to wallow, and follow it up with something upbeat and fun: House. DO EET! It works beyond all your hopes, and doesn't make you hate your favourite happy songs because they remind you of that time that that Girl didn't call you back or something. |
