keep it going girls :) ms. finesse from fly antics is starting some classes too..shes prob the "realist" bgirl in vancouver. if ure starting off classes are good.. but to a point ull start to feel to leave them and discover yourself. you guys should drop by bonsor community on sats from 5:30-8:30.. lots of bboys/bgirls come, its a wicked place to just practice what you know and learn from other FRIENDLY bboys bgirls. cya there :)

I hate the windmill. Its so over used. I hate most of the power moves these days. They totally take away from the core foundations of breakdance.

But how can you say that? Swipes, windmills, flares, and tracks are foundations of breaking now anyways. I know what you mean, but some of the illest bboys out there start as "cookie cutter."

I have mad respect for bboy's that can do any of that.

When they are cookie cutter you know it. Swipes, Windmills, Flares and Tracks ARE NOT FOUNDATIONS! Thats the problem. They are so widley used that people think they are. While they are core moves, yes, they are not foundations. Trust me!
Swipes are very close and I acutally do consider them foundations. Because they can be tied into many combos and are a great way of transfering from one move to the next while staying fluent.
Windmills are over rated power moves for the most part. There are a wide variety of mills though. To see someone do a Tombstone Mill is very impressive. But when some kid shows off how fast he can mill. Im not impressed. Id be more impressed with someone doing a quick Superman mill transfering from one more to the next then if they were to pull off Nutcrackers!
Flares are good. They take alot to learn and are hard to keep going. But I see them too often. Kinda like a really good song that gets played on the radio too much. Thats about all I can say for flares!
Tracks are an open ended move open to interpertaion by anyone. With the same basis as Swipes! While this move done properly can serve as a great filler between moves or something elses!
Foundation does not require any power moves of any kind. Foundation is good toprock, and good floor work! Being able to bounce on beat and having good coordination is good foundation right there! Technical stalls are also a main key in having a solid foundation. Why do you think you so often see worldwide bboys stop pulling AirFlares and all of a sudden are winning competitions without pulling one power move? Because they work on sold foundations!
Its what breakdancing used to be. But must like using the Import Car industry as an example. Its become much to of a cookie cutter thing these days!
