Now that summer's here, they'll probably down at Robson Square (near the UBC Library on Robson street downtown). They practice at where the ice rink is during the winter. You can generally find them there after 2 or 3 every day of the week.
i'm not an expert on the topic, but that's where i last saw em. Last edited by Mr Ektion; Apr 24, 05 at 08:27 PM. |

Re-spect: B-boys carrying on the hip hop tradition.
Dis Re-spect: Some tard in overalls nearly kicking me in the chops because he's all sketched out at a sunday night breaks event and just has to show off his moves. Just calling it like I see it.. the majority of times I've seen someone breakdancing at a rave or an "electronica" (for lack of a better term) club night, they're sketched out on something and show quite a bit of disregard for other people who are dancing (and don't feel the need to take away space for 10 other fellow dancers). I don't think B-boys in the 80s needed chemicals to get high off of the beat.. they just needed to throw down. Does that still seem ignorant to you? Thanks for the bad karma Chop. =( |

im pretty new to the scene and have to admit i dont fully have my heart into it, but starting next week i want to start breaking more and digging my head into the miniture breaking scene we have here in van. from what ive been told bonsor community center is teh place to be every saturday between 5:30-8:30. its an open gym 2 bucks entrance free. all the 'real' breakers are there working on routines, moves, and battles.
optics cody has been calling me A LOT to inform me of events, but i havne' t been able to attend. but i plan to get focus more into it real soon. we do have a mini breakers scene here..and no the "breakdancers" at raves dont count. breaking at a rave in general and acting cocky about it just doens't cut it..there is a real scene out here and they do compete nationally/internationally. just have to meet the right ppl and keep ure ears opened for battles. edit: gonna add this in. if anyone is intro to breakdancing pm me. i took classes from a bgirl here in van and she wants to start up a new intro class soon and told me to help her recruit a few ppl. once she has enough ppl to start a class it will be held at scotia dance center in downtown..most likely on a sunday. pm me if ure interested. (approx $100 for 7-8 classes and its stricly an INTRODUCTION class) Last edited by bebu*funfun; Apr 24, 05 at 10:35 PM. |

everyone is intitled to there opinion but i have to admitt ive been dancing for 9 years now and evry dance style is accepted when i comes to music..ive been pushed over by a bunch of flailers at raves ,night clubs etc.. and i wasnt even starting a circle with my crew..not everyone does drug ither i can throw down with out drugs way better than i can with them..i agree tho that sometimes its easy for a circle or people battling can become over done..i apologise for all those ignorant people..i know the crew i kick it with keeps it on the D/L **cheers
