my friend just got car jacked!
wtf
he was driving between burnaby and new west, going home, and this black guy runs out of a house into the middle of the street, so my friend slammed on the breaks.. then the guy jumps into the passenger side and goes "Theres somebody chasing me, drive drive drive! so my friend, being the very nice and helpfull person that he is, decideds to help this guy out.. drove him to his destination and pulled over and said "have a good night" the guy was just like "no man, you fucked up, you fucked up man," leaned over and turned off the car and punched him in the side of the head knocking off his glasses.. he opened the door to turn on the light to find his glasses (he' got super bad vision.. can't see a foot in front of him without glasses) while keeping his elbow in this guys face.. then punches him a couple times in the head, grabs his cell phone and his wallet and gets out of the car .. during the struggle he thought he broke his key off in the ignition so it couldn't be turned back on, but the guy started the car and drove off, stealing 250 bucks that was in the car.. the cops found the car on cordova 5 hours later.. the front end all smashed he just got that car too.. used, but still.. now he has no money at all.. no car..until insurance hopefully pulls through and re-emberses him thats fucked up if you ask me i'd never drive by myself again..

Thats really fuckin scarey. Hope ur friend is alright. This is gonna make me always check to make sure my doors are locked from now on.. wow.

one of the cardinal rules of driving are "don't let anyone just hop into your fuckin car"
and as stated by cubed, this guy was black. THAT'S A FUCKIN WARNING RIGHT THERE. besides if he really was being chased, he's black, he can run fast, probably faster than your average vehicle.

well i didn't mean for this to turn into a racist thread.. i was just relaying what he told me to you..
my friend is ok, he is just really dissapointed how he was once again taken advantage of.. he's not from here and isn't used of how people act... (he's from singapore but he's punjabi...apparently his religion is very respectful) he says stuff like that never happens in singapore.. i've been trying to tell him canada and the people in it are really nice, cause from my experience it has been... he sees it very differently here, and it's kind of embarrassing for me it's a shame that he feels like he has to lock his doors while he's driving now.. he's paranoid about that stuff already and i've been trying to loosen up that paranoia a little bit cause i always thought it was silly i geuss i was wrong

I personally wouldn't let a random in my Car unless we outnumbered him. That's ashame that this person gets this impression of Vancouver.

Yah mine too. As soon as I hit 20 they lock. I would never let that happen though unless they forced their way in. I am a little over pairanoid sometimes. But I think it keeps me safe. I always keep the doors locked until i'm ready to get out, and always take a good look around at my suroundings before I do (especialy at night)
It really is to bad though that your friend had such a bad experiance. Especialy while he is still adjusting to living here.
