if you hate the meat market vibe of the west side, go to the east side (by the whale park), there's more sand there, it's rad when the tide goes waaaay out and you don't get that vibe there at all, it's mostly families or chill people there. |

In Vancouver my fave is Spanish Banks - at low tide - for space to throw the frisbees.
__________________________ Around my area it's either Cultus Lake or Harrison Hot Springs. Harrison is best for scenery. Lake's 80 miles long but everyone hangs out at the main beach. Older crowd of tourists etc. Usually I'm at Cultus cuz it's close to town and there's a friend who has a house and a 20' catamaran sailboat there. Beach is OK, a little crowded sometimes. ^ ya, fuck beaches. SURREY LAKE, whoooooo!
but in all honesty, weird shit goes on in wreck beach, and white pine isnt as busy or entertaining as english bay. so ill have to say that english bay is my favourite beach. i often walk there after work and sit down on the grass and chill for an hour or so. |

Kits (by the public pool) - On the grass. No sand = clean!
White Rock - It's close to Matt's place in WR White Pine - Beautiful but busssy English Bay - I think this will be my summer hang out due to the increasing amount I've been spending in the area. I loved how for the first part of last summer (while I was still here) we went to a different beach every Sunday. Then for the rest of the summer I got to enjoy some of Australia's most beautiful beaches! I really am a child of summer =) |
