What would you do?
So after the hell of a day I had today I decided I didn't want to leave my house and I was going to order food for dinner... All I had was my debit card so I was left with only one choice, pizza. Those you know me know that I really do not like pizza at all...
After 45 minute my pizza finally comes (so much for 25 minutes...) and their debit machine is down. I have zero cash and no credit card and I offer to write a cheque... apparently dominos doesn't want to deal with that so I offer to write him a cheque personally. Considering he knows where I live and the cost of having a cheque bounce is waaay more than my pizza I totally thought this would be ok. He stands their dumbfounded and tells me that I can go out with him and get cash... I wouldn't feel comfortable with some strange guy and if I wanted to go out I would have gone and gotten food that I actually liked and tell him he can keep the pizza which apparently he says I know have to keep... and owe the money. I am expected to walk down to the store before 1am tonight to pay for this pizza now (I don't have a car)... obviously I'm going to have to go there or they'll be knocking on my door, but I don't believe that I am totally at fault for this whole deal and essentially it's like picking up my own pizza in the end... What would you do? Last edited by LDUB; May 30, 05 at 09:05 PM. |

if he knows where you live, and you plan to order from the same location in the future, or in fact from that franchise at all, pay the man the money. if not, fuck it
if you somehow find out that they are coming back, and you know a specific time, try to arrange it so that another delivery guy comes to your door with a pizza. why not |

Deffinatly the pizza places fuck up.. They are supposed to ask how you will be paying not to mention the fact they can't show up at your house banging on your door when not even giving you 48 hours. Call up managment and demand some satisfaction if managment doesnt wanna handle it ask to speak to the next person up. Eventually you get head office and they are all about customer satisfaction there cause in the end they have the most to loose from a buggered up franchise restaurant..

i would tell him tough luck then close the door on him. if he wants to escalate it then i would glady like to see him try. it is totally the pizza places fault and they are supposed to ask u what the method of payment will be. if they did ask and u said debit heck its their fault and if they didnt ask then fuck its still their fault. either way they lose. and since u dont like pizza i doubt u would really order from them again so dont have to worry about getting shitty pizza.

phone them, and explain it's not a big fuckin deal, and you'll get them some money tomorrow or whatever.
if they have a problem speak to the manager. besides, it's on the driver not to give the food away. i mean, when i drove for dominoes, if someone doesn't have money, you don't give them the food. it's really that simple. now i'm not saying stiff them, but i would think an explanation and a promise to bring in the money later would be adequate. *imo this does hinge heavily on the "did you ask about debit" part of the situation |
