1. ) steam your milk first : skim the nozzle over the top of the milk, don't put it to the bottom yet ( perfect foam cannot be created when the milk is too hot ) after you make the foam, put the nozzle to the bottom til the rest heats up. use a thermometer - the ideal temperature is 135 to 150 degrees. anywhere past that tastes burnt. turn off steam. this is key. wipe off nozzle.
2. ) next make your espresso. pack it really hard..or the water won't filter thru properly and you won't get the full flavour of the bean. The perfect espresso shot takes 17-21 seconds. ( make sure you do this AFTER you steam the milk or it will not be FRESH ) 4.) for a latte : pour shot into cup. pour milk into cup - hold foam back with a spoon. then spoon some foam on top. for a cappuchino : fill cup with 1/3 foam. pour milk onto foam. pour espresso into foam. ( I was a Blenz barista when I was 17 hehe ) have fun :) |

umm.. for hazelnut latte, take 1 shot of espresso, 1 pumps of chocolate and 2 pump of hazelnut syrup. pour the steamed milk over with a little bit of foam over top, then drizzel some chocolate in a zig-zag pattern over it. then, take a stick or something and start going across the zig-zag to make your drink look pretty! --Joanne (former breadgarden barista) :P |
