I'm amazed.......all Missy Chrissy is trying to do is promote her stage......something all the other promoters will probably start doing soon.......and the majority of the ppl posting are giveing her s*** about it......lay off........if you don't like her stage then don't go to it.....it will be your loss......this stage will probably be one of the better ones of the night.........good luck with your stage Missy Chrissy and I will definately be stopping by sometime in the night to dance

To the lovely ladies who have responded to my points in this thread. Try again.
Your a girl, that's great. You have an all girl stage, super! I support you. Go knock yourself out and have fun. Girl power and all tha jazz. However my problem is simple, and remains unadressed by most of you. Girl Dj's deserve the same respect as guy dj's. No more, no less. However, by basically saying, "visit the female stage and see some hot girls", makes this all female stage not about how skilled female dj's, but just some side show for guys . PS- I'm sorry that I believe that female Dj's should be promoted for talent rather then looks. Last edited by NinjaBoy; Jun 21, 05 at 08:51 PM. |

Ninjaboy and J-Auto's point was that the music should always be front and center. With the type of promo you're talking about, it's for DnB heads, by DnB heads, everyone knows what they're getting when it comes to the #1 concern (MUSIC) In Chrissy's post the only unifying thread seems to be gender and being easy on the eyes. Unless I'm supposed to assume they play a certain kind of music because they're girls.. which sounds sexist to me! I don't know (still!) what kind of music most of those DJs play. Hence, #1 concern not addressed. Not so much getting on board their bandwagon as I am arguing against your argument as being illogical, Jay. I guess I probably agree with the guys complaining, though I'm a lot less passionate about it. I do think asserting that the criticisms are due to guys having "bruised egos" or otherwise being worried about competiton is off base. These guys (particularly veteran J-Auto) have absolutely zero to prove to anyone when it comes to their status and talent as DJs, and I doubt very much a one off stage at Apex is of any great concern to them. Winning an argument on FnK, however... |

It also occurs to me that I've seen flyers before with just DJ names on it, and little to no commentary about what kinds of music are going to be introduced, so maybe that doesn't really hold true as an all encompassing rule.
Oh, and to anyone who's surprised that we're getting 6 pages and counting out of this subject? Were you not aware that Universities (good ones!) have entire goddamn classes on this kind of stuff? Frankly I'm glad at least something somewhat relevant is being debated here, instead of whether Wum or Lou Belle is a bigger chowderhead. |

fuck all i'm saying, it's not like these names are unknown to people, like when you put the name precise on a flyer, do you NEED someone to tell you he plays breaks?
or when the name KRAIG or AKEEL appears on a flyer, you just know you're gonna hear bad trance right? am i right? lol |
