Thoroughly unprepared raver.

Glowsticks are way cheaper if you buy them at Canuck Tire beforehand. And they'll probably last longer (provided you stick to the camping ones. Those ones are better for finding shit in the dark anyways).

Give an explanation for what you need it for too...
I know I need my essentials:

Record Box:
Records, Cd Case, Spare Needles, Headphones, Headphone splitters incase of tag team set, Demos, Ticket money/left over tickets for the Promoter.
Holy shit, do you introduce yourself as a DJ to everyone you meet too?

Jesus kid, you're just playing other people's music...

When I for some reason want to bring Glowsticks I bring the Military Grade White or Green ones that last like 12 Hours. Those fuckers are great. I still get a discount at the Army Surplus too so I get them for like $1.50

I bring way too much.. but I always like to be prepared. *shrug* I guess Brownies and Boy Scouts did pay off. lol
In my bag I bring: change purse and wallet (with money and ID), hairbrush, keys, band-aids, toothbrush & paste (brush away the icky tastes), perfume (no more stinky!), extra socks, change of clothes and make up (or I leave that in a friends car), my little whip, gum (hidden), pen and notepad/phonebook and I always carry a lip balm or 2. ANd I think that's all I bring.. if it's outdoor I also bring bug spray and a bunch of other stuff.

Don't get me wrong, I love DJing, and I have respect for people i think are good DJs, but this thread just screams of "LOOK AT ME! I'M A DJ" or "LOOK AT ME, I KNOW THE PROMOTER."

Sad.

you can't really get all that famous for just being a DJ unless you are super talented like Z-trip, bad boy bill, ...who also produce a bit)
Most of the topnotch DJ's are known for their productions. They go hand in hand.

But this thread should have nothing to do with you being a DJ and what gigs you have or what promoters you know yet those are the first things you list.

The entire point of your post was a roundabout way to show off that a) you're a dj (and not a very good one apparently - I tend to trust Akeel's judgement) and b) you know rave promoters.

Why else would you entitle your thread with such an innocuous question and then answer with all the dj gear you bring and "tickets/money" (speaking of which, why in the hell do you need a splitter for tag-teaming? Are you so lazy that you can't just unplug and re-plug your headphones when it's time to play?).

Seriously dude, if you really feel the need to let people to know that you're a rave dj and you sell tickets for a promoter just post a thread saying "I'm A DJ!!!!!! AREN'T YOU IMPRESSED????" Rather than some bullshit question about what you bring to raves and then rattling off a list of items that you think will dazzle people with your importance.

now to redirect the thread back on topic (or title topic anyway :P)

i usually bring the following all crammed in pockets/backpack:

-money - obviously - need to buy water
-lighter/smokes - self explanatory
-1 pack gum for security to see and confiscate, so i can sneak...
-more gum - they seem to ease up on the searchin when they think ur oblivious to hiding things.. (or so i find)
-vics inhalant -
-key lights -
-change for mornin - shirt/socks
-AXE!! :P
-towel to wipe off any residue sweat before i change
-camera - take pictures
-tickets - or i aint gettin in

n thats all i can think of, unless there is a special reason to bring something else, such as a jacket for apex since it gets cold, n tents etc.

This topic meandered too fast, I simply asked what YOU would bring to a party, and everyone has their own items that they bring (wether it be listed in order of importance or not) it was simply a thread of curiosity that obviously couldnt stay on track because people interpreted things wrong.

I dont need to tell people im a dj, becuase with the list I provided in the first post in this thread, people would tend to recognize what a) a dj would bring to a rave and b) what I myslef would bring to a rave (personal items that would include the dj gear, IN ORDER OF IMPORTANCE to my mind atleast). In no way did I intended to say "Oh look at me, im a dj that knows promoters"... simply because there is no need to show it off. I also indeed did menchion my list of dj gear I would bring as first, becuase it is a priority to me (everyone has a personal way of prioritizing items and thats how I seem to prioritize mine...and ill leave it at that) let alone what to bring to a party that your not just attending to party at...but spinning aswell. As for the dj-splitter, if you knew what happened at Fusion Dreams then you would of understood (If you would like to know then feel free to Pm me as for it might hold some potential drama knowing the public forum known as FnK). Sorry for any inconvenience this misinterpretation of ideas resulted.
