Regarding your emotional defence there, your comments were unresearched opinions, just as your first comment was... thus deserving the criticism that came your way. I was clearly not asking for clarification, nor did I remark upon anything else but your statement itself being ignorant.

It might intrigue you to know that Mussolini's fascist government was in power many years before Hitler came to power, infact almost a decade before they overlap. The mark of this man is in those years.

dude, how the hell do you know that miss.myra's first comment was an "unresearched opinion"? Did you read her mind? Or are you just assuming that she knows less than you since she didn't elaborate her point?

Hrm, let's disect her comment:
"Mussolini was an idiot and look at what happened to him."

Well now, Mussolini certainly was a bit of a boarish bully with a long history of violence, but does that necessarily make him an idiot? Despide being expelled from school for stabbing some poor bastard in addition to throwing ink at a teacher, he did resonably well, scholastically speaking. Before become the second shortest dictator in history (I'm sure he cursed Napoleon for steling the title) he even wrote a novel. Surely these are not the deeds of an idiot?

The novel, however, was a god awful piece of rubbish stuffed with lewd paragraphs and a plot that makes Days of Our Lives seem like Oscar worthy cinematography. Furthermore his grades were never good enough to help him get a job teaching even elemetary students and he got booted out of Switzerland for, litterally, being a bum.

His public speaking skills helped him into power and pushed Italy into alliance with Nazi Germany. But, dammit, nearly every single battle Mussolini was directing went horribly wrong and Germany, inevitably. had to send in it's troops to help out.

Summing up:
-Grade School Savvy
-Poor Writer
-Shitty Military Strategist
-Short, Angry Man

While his benefit to Italy might be debatable, I'd say, overall, Mussolini garnishes a cookie and a Gold Star of Idiocy.

Now, chances are miss.myra might not have know ALL of these facts before saying that Mussolini was an idiot, but keep in mind this is the INTERNET and as such people are allowed to say pretty much whatever the hell they want without having done the proper research.
