well killing someone is killing someone to me. how ever you decide to do it...
i guess the afghan proverb "Dont steal and you wont fear the king" comes into play. i guess honestly im still debating my oppinions on capital punishment... im somewhat partial to the concept of an eye for an eye, seems fair, but comes across as more deconstructive than anything else... not to mention i confidently belive that it is better that 10 guilty men walk free than 1 innocent man be condemed... im not going to watch the video. |

i dont know how they deal with rapists, murderers or whatever.. and im not saying that im for this system, but if you look at it, they have drasticly lower crime rates. again im not saying i agree with this system. im just making note of the over all effect.
one thing that has always botherd me is when religion gets into law. anything that socialy is irrelevent, but religiosly is a sin should NOT be enforced by law. but thats not going to happen any time soon... |

it's shit like this that contirbutes to the stereotypes from the middle eastern cultures. And this is exactly why idiots like WUM, go to extent of calling em savages and underdevelopped. Get ur head outta ur ass. That isnt the general population. Its the works of a the new regime that has corrupted a country with over 2500 years of culture and heritage. First off, i hardly think it is the "general" public participating in such events, for entertainment purposes. The ones throwing stones are usually supporters of the new regime and sometimes part of the military. And those who even attend such events, do it out of fear. Because if they dont, some extremist neighbour could open his mouth, and they could be next in the dirt. When i was 7 years old, livin in Iran, i saw someone being hung in the middle of the street, from a crane. We were in school, and they MADE us go to see this. They told us that he had commited horrible things, against his family and against the religion and other bull shit. We really didnt have a choice but to go.
I dont agree with any of the bull shit done by the new regime. NONE OF IT. They turned that place into a crapper. Im proud of the heritage and the culture but unfortunately, some people just associate cnn reports and above clips with the heritage and the culture. |

im almost speechless. i do agree that canada's criminal laws are a little too laxed but then again, you hear and see stuff like this that makes you think twice about harsher punishments. of course crime rates are lower in countries that have capital punishment part of the law. people live in fear knowing that the consequences are that much more serious. you rarely hear about it, and i dont know if the laws exist but in singapore, if you're caught stealing they chop off a finger/hand depending on how severe the crime is.
