Don't you hate it when you're cooking and the stupid smoke alarm goes off? That happened to me today and I couldn't find a way to turn it off. The damn thing kept beeping and beefing and there was no botton that turns it of or anything. I kept swinnging a towel in front of it and after 3 mins. it finally stopped. I hate those stupid things, there should be a off botton on them.

Whats even stupider is that you can be smoking MAD bong tokes right underneath a smoke alarm and it doesn't go off, but the MOMENT ur pizza gets a lil too done in the oven, its over.

They are so damn annoying, I just about ripped the stupid thing of the ceiling. My buddy did that to his in his apartament cause he couldn't take the noise anymore.

Once me and my friends had a "Hawaiian Hot Box" and when we got out of the washroom the god damn thing went off, luckily my buddy knew how to turn it off. I dunno how he did that, I guess he's a smoke alarm expert or something, lol.

Here are my foolproof steps to remedying this problem.

1> remove smoke alarm from wall
2> remove batteries from alarm
3> replace alarm on wall

NO MORE BLEEPING PROBLEMS

Just did that and there is no place to put batteries in it, it all electric, just has a bunch of wires.

If your alarm is hard-wired, you better not fuck w/ it.

If it's anything like my building, disconnecting it will send a signal, sending an alarm to the alarm company, and they will investigate.

If you've been found to have tampered w/ the alarm, you could face fines from the building, and possibly civil fines.

Then, again, maybe not.

Do you really want to take the chance, though?

I mean, the thing _is_ there to potentially save your life.

He could always just wrap a Dishcloth around it and fasten it with Elastic Bands instead of risking electrocution. :)
