What you people don't understand is that LoungeX is not a website.
LoungeX is a community. ... Wouldn't you all pay a small fee if FK came under the same stress? Wouldn't it be worth it to continue to partake in the community? Wouldn't you? Or would you just move on to another website, forget all the friends you made here, and make new ones somewhere else? If it is the latter, then I really do feel sorry for you. If you had been following my argument, you'd see that I was referring to the loyalty that one has to a medium wherein a portion of one's life is devoted to. In this case, it is LX and the community that comes with it. But this is not a phenomena unique to LX, as you are insinuating that I have stated. Rather, this happens quite commonly in message boards all over the 'net, and in real life examples such as a local cafe or bar. Most people would understand this as most people have all been in some sort of community wherein they have felt loyalty and appreciation towards something that the community is based around. I would think that the same would apply to you too, in regards to FK. You should feel loyalty to it. You should empasize with my thoughts on the new LX policies. You might not like the site, but you should at least see where I'm coming from. But you don't. What am I to conclude then? Quote:

My two cents:
Bob, you may have started with a valid point, but now your just rambling Lounge X gets more traffic then F&K period. Hell, I bet the front page saying :"we'll be back soon" gets more traffic the F&K does. The membership doo hickey will also give your discounts and other oddities as well. LX is a community. You don't enjoy it probably cause everyone laughed at you when you posted 3 page love letters to stabby three days after you talked to her on icq. Bob, I'm sure if Dj Form came on here and said, that's it, I'm going to have to charge 15 bux for people to access the server here, you'd be at the front telling everyone to go ahead and do it. LX is a community, people there know each other, maybe not friends, but it's much like a comic store I used to frequent where, once inside, everyone chatted and was friends, but never outside. |

personally, if or when lx comes back i am not going 2 participate at one time, it wuz a dope place 2 share wut u thought about stuff meet people and get turned on2 nu things it has slowly denegrated in2 a mah-seev with all the applicable social problems and blindedsight that follow now, that being said there a quite a few friends i made thru use ov that sight but those were different times not only for the site but the city as well it is reflective ov a larger demographic with battling memes "my kru is danker than yer kru" squabbles people expousing rumours as "the politics ov the scene" and a whole bunch ov really uninteresting crap now i gotta pay for that? i guess community can b where u find it or wut u call it unfortunately... in lx, i find neither now and do not wish 2b included in group who thinks payment is a common social bond or that top rankin' in the "who can post the most" contest can b thought ov as the "lifeblood ov the scene" that, stormtroopers ov the dark, is known as wanking and while wanking can keep u happy and content it does very little for the rest ov us maybe if u bought a webcam...? pay Al, if u wish me... i'm gonna get him drunk and highhigh peas, james. ps. this thread could b thought ov as a glimpse ov things 2 come |
