can't say I live in constant fear
but the one about the end of the earth is kinda always on my mind, everywhere I look things are getting more and more messed up at a faster and faster pace and I just have to wonder how much more old mother nature can handle, or if all this is signs from the book of Revelations and means God's pissed off enough to end it all... |

Fear is good.
Fear is the only reason anything lives.
Fear is what drives every organism on the planet. Embrace fear it leads to adrenaline. Fearing death is the oldest dryest joke there is. Don't fear death, fear the mortal coil of reincarnation. Death is not handed to you in a carcrash or a bullet. Death is a reward for balancing your Karma. Only in Western culture is death feared. True death is when your soul is set free from reincarnation. Then you can truly die and your soul can rest. Buddhist monks spend life after life trying to achieve death. So do not fear death, fear being reincarnated infinitely. I personally want out of the mortal coil of reincarnation. I'm sure most will tell you, "You die and thats it it's over black." That's what people want to believe they don't want to believe they have to come back over n over until they balance their karmic energies. These are the people who truly fear death. |

The only thing I fear is failure.
I could die tonight and die happy, knowing that up to this point, I've done what I wanted with my life. I don't see the point of living in constant fear of something like death - it's going to happen to all of us eventually, so I choose to live my life to the fullest and accept the fact that my life is finite. |

^but everyone fears death just a little. like that esoteric guy said (one of the few times i agree with him) that fear of death is what keeps many living creatures alive.
it's why you don't stand too close to a cliff edge, walk out in the street without looking, always wear your seatbelt, etc... though you may not feel like you're 'afraid' of death, you do all those things to keep yourself safe and alive because most of us don't want to die until we have too. even someone that accepts the notion that they must die one day doesn't necessarily want to die right now. edit: for galaxie (mostly) |

I probly shouldnt say that im not afraid of death, but I came very close a few months ago and underwent brain sugery and all the while they were telling my parents that they were "loosing me", I felt like the whole thing wasn't a big deal and I wasn't scared at all. I hope that when my time acctually does come, It will be like it was that day. |

erhaps the most famous fear quote of all time:
"The only thing we have to fear is fear it'self - nameless, unreasoning, unjustified, terror which paralyzes needed efforts to convert retreat into advance." ---- FDR - First Inaugural Address, March 4, 1933 However a good scare is worth more to a man than good advice. |

A guy may not approach a girl in the club cause he's afraid of failure, scared she may turn him down, missing his chance to speak to her. A Businessman may be afraid of failure, therefore staying safe and not investing in higher risk (higher risk usually brings in more money, and it's short term) investments. Sticking to low risk 3% per year investments through the bank. Being afraid of failure prevents many people from starting a business |

I totally agre with that, only by picturing yourself as a success will you be able to fully succeed, ussually people can "fake it" for a bit, but then eventually they mess things up or fail somewhere along the way and at that point they ussually say "see I knew it all along" but don't realize it was the fact that they were saying it that it eventually happened. Of course that's not EVERYone and a certain fear of failure that pushes you to succeed can be healthy for the right person, but most failures don't succeed simply because they expect to fail. |

Risks are part of life - IMO, how much drive and determination one has determines whether or not they take huge risks, fail, and bounce back. |
