this aint a hack show, this isnt a game, this isnt a bunch of stereotypical rich west van wives parading around, attempting to seak some absolvement after having a summer fling with the immigrant help. This is a group of cats, who are just trying to get a movment back off the ground, and to try to even match one billionth of the raw power of something like the Iraq Insurgency, where peoples are dying by the second. its obvious that you are well aware of your freedom of speach, feel free to come to the demo, and heckle me to your hearts content, but come with a point, come with some honesty and intellignce, or atleast a solid left hook, otherwise get back up on that fence with all the other preschool dropouts and SHUT THE FUCK UP....seriously, you had a glimmer of earnest smarts in another post, please dont blow it now! Yes thats right - THIS SATURDAY SEPTEMBER 24 the MOBILIZATION AGAINST WAR AND OCCUPATION alongside the ENTIRE LOWER MAINLAND will be joining the rest of this province/this country/this continent/this world for the INTERNATIONAL DAY OF ANTIWAR/OCCUPATION! @ the VANCOUVER ART GALLERY ROBSON ST. you need to take an anger management class, buddy. i have been to many demonstrations in vancouver and they all end up in the same thing. that is where my comment stemmed from. it wasn't a 'comment-lite'. i said what i meant to say: that generally vancouver demonstrations are exactly the same as the hundred of ones before it. now i'm not saying i'm above marches and speakers...they can be really excellent; especially if you get the right people to speak. but there have been SO many marches/demonstrations/rallies against the occupation that have been exxxactly the same that i was just hoping for something a little different. don't just assume things about people. don't assume i've never been to a rally before or that i'm retarded simply because i share some different view points from you. i can't imagine anyone getting into any sort of debate with you as you take extreme offence to almost everything that people say to you and then make assumptions about them. you already know where i stand with this damn stupid occupation. you're trying to revive the anti-occupation movement? right on! i say that's awesome. i was just wondering how you were going to do it? because if your'e going to try to revive it using the same techniques that have caused everyone to ignore them so much in the past then you got a problem. if you guys can't take some constructive criticism about demonstrations then how the hell are you ever going to improve them to reach more people? i never said marches/speakers sucked i just said that maybe there is something else that can be done that gets the publics interests. some other ideas: music, films, plays...something that people aren't normally going to expect from a demonstration (except maybe music...but if there was a live band then people would stop by more). and, hey, if you're thinking about doing any of those things, then great! that's what i wanted to know in the first place. that last paragraph makes you out to be more idiotic than you think i am. you obviously aren't even reading what i'm writing. i never said i want to heckle you. i'm not against you doing a demonstration. i was wondering what yours was going to consist of. so take a cold shower, count to five, and use your head fully before you respond next time please. ps. i'll probably come check out your demonstration. i like going to them. maybe by then you'll have cooled off enough to realize that we're speaking from the same side. sidekick::
im not assuming nothing, im just reacting to your few sentences that are apperently supposed to be your version of constructive critisism? I think i got more in your last post! dont assume im angry, my words were just words. the group that i work with receives critisisms well, as long as they are constructive stating that our rally will probably be a speach and a march, and then saying you hope your wrong was a dis where i grew up, and a dis is ok, but not when it involves an anti-war/occuaption movement, that is comprised of men and women, young and old(like me!) that feel an urgency and a pressure to try to inform and engage concerned people and ignorant people alike. I apologise for the sake of trying to minimize conflict/negetivity, but i belive that you have a problem with communicating your thoughts, and i do not that talking in intangibles helps the situation, but im not you, and your gonna do what you feel is right. All i can do is assure you that there will be no biting off of heads (unless someone is out to cause shit for shits sake) and i will happily engage you in a conversation, and i promise you i will listen to your thoughts and ideas. shakeel For the record this is NOT constructive:: "what's the deal with this demonstration. what's going to be happening? pftt in vancouver? i don't think so. i'm going to guess this is what's happening: march down robson (maybe) speakers at the art gallery hopefully i'm wrong." like i said before we dont do this work because we get off on it, and sometimes things are going to get heated, its just part of the process i guess |

hey mang, i didnt get a chance to get back to you, and now im seeing that it was probably a good thing - just one question is this your usual approach to grabbn a slot at shows? or am i getting the special treatment? 1) i guess i wont be seeing you around at ANY shows, if i do, i guess i can assume your a hypocrite? 2) if you thought the styles of music i was requesting were crap(which is all music, considering i put an etc. on the end of the sentence) Quote:
i dont know, i may just be wrong, but i think injecting all that booze in your veins is contributing to you SOUNDING LIKE AN IDIOT.
