I won my tattoo... but i realised after it would have been nice if I tipped the guy. I was so excited I didn't even think of it though.

Oh well, next time he comes to one of my shows I'll buy him a drink or two. that works too right?

ya you do, if you tip some bitch who brings you food and drink why wouldnt you tip someone who puts permanent art on ur body, assuming he/she didnt fuck it up.

if ya feel that bad about not tipping for your first few tats, just show up at the place with a case of beer or something. case o' beer on a friday usually makes peoples' day.

The question is HOW MUCH do you tip???

I'm going in on Saturday for session 1 on my shoulder tat.... 3 hours or so. We've basically figured that I'll need about 7hrs worth of work all said and done.

I havent gotten one done, but id assume you would tip them pretty well.

You tip well when you get your haircut so I assume when someone sits there for a few hours putting a needle in your arm you would tip even more.

^The thing is.... when you're paying between $100 up to $250 an hr for the guy don't you think he's really making a hell of a lot of money from you already?

Not that I'm saying I wouldn't tip but in the long run should you really tip THAT much?

Don't overtip, very true, you are paying a shitload an hour for him to ink you, and yes he is making a HUGE profit out of it, but still if you are going for 3 hours, id tip like $40.

i'd say it totally depends on the the design and how long you're there for. the harder and more complicated the tattoo the more i'd want to tip. if i was just getting something small and simple done then i wouldn't tip as much. it's like how you tip more when your waitress has to take a complicated order from a party of 15 than if she just brought you and a friend a pitcher of beer.
