poor dogs

i couldnt get the page loaded but ill tell the story because i have a dog and its just sad. in france theres a town where fisherman grab stray dogs and cats and use big fish hooks and hook them in the mouth of the animals and drag them on a fishing line from the boats as bait for sharks. the pic of the article has a lab or golden retriever with hooks stuck in the mouth of the dog. that dog somehow got free from the boat. the pic of it is so sad, any one with dogs would feel so angry seeing it. i wish i could load the pic but fnk doesnt load html. :256: :256: :256:

i love dogs, cats, bunnies..... all things cute. i have a dog and two cats and have had numerous other pets. and im not a vegitarian but....

animal cruelity happens daily - chickens raised in pens just to mass produce eggs. cows being shoved into tiny pens as soon as they are born and then having a feeding tube shoved up there nose and force to live in a box until they can be cut up for veal... ect.ect.

hearing this story makes my stomach upset, cant deny that, but before anyone gets on a huge animal cruelty crusade, take a look around you. plus it has to be kept in mind that different cultures use animals for different things.

^^^having lived in the philippines for 7 years, sadly, it's true...
I think one of the biggest reasons why I became a vegetarian is because of some of the things I have seen and smelled there.

but in all honesty, I have more respect for a person who can kill their own food and eat it, compared to another person who is too ignorant to even see how their food got on their plates.

LOL, no.. I'm just saying, I find it more respectable. I don't have a problem with people eating meat or using animal products per say. it's only the ignorant ones who pretend that animals don't suffer in order put meat on the table, that annoy me.

and here's another thing I notice about western people... when they order duck at a chinese restaurant, some of them become horrified when they see the duck's head is there.

WELL NO SHIT, IT IS A DEAD DUCK YOU JUST ORDERED!

and in reference to the picture of the dog, just because a culture eats animals that people here are not used to eating, it doesn't mean that animal cruelty is used to kill them. a dead dog to me is no different from a dead pig.

and for se7en: fish have a central nervous system and pain receptors. fishing for them with a hook probably hurts them as much as it would a dog.
