Realistically, the headphone selection in the lower mainland is sorta lame. Ive owned numerous brands from grado, senn;s and the old "not so much" reliable the trusty sonyvdj7's, and most places carry the later at around the same price. Tom lee's gotta few decent technics @ around 250ish, HiFi centre has a few models of the grado labs, ranging form ~125-up!(But these are the sorta cans you would use for home stereo, not for djing) Places like the soundroom, and long and macquade carry a few models of the senn's at around the same prices as a+b sound. As well, the soundroom carries a few beringer models, but if theyre anything like theyre mixers, theyre probably not up to the task. Future shop-dont bother. I have yet to enter a bestbuy, but perhaps they have a few? I have yet to enter a Source either, but im thinkn its radioshack with a different name, so i doubt theyll have anything that you would dig.
theres always ebay, canadacomputers, craigslist?, usedvancouver? gluck yo peace+'spect fable |

if u wanna deal thru tomlee, then just buy them on their website and you'll get them way quick. plus, since they price match, just find a canadian website that sells them really cheap, e-mail tomlee, and you'll get that price + better.
..thats what i would recommend doing. |

oh, i just noticed the rest of your last post. Grado labs are amazing for sheer sound quality and affordability and WARRANTY, but they cant take a serious amount of shitkicking, and are open headphones(to have real clear, clarified sound they have to be) so there will be some sound leak
dont relegate yourself to choose from the reletively small of field of cans that retail stores in the lower mainland peddle to people. DO a bit of research, and listening, becuase theyre are some amazing cans out there, that most people dont ever see. heres a few sites http://www.head-fi.org http://www.headphone.com http://www.headwize.com i find the main contributors to the "dj style headphones" are durability, adjustability, closed cups, swivel cups and style. They most def do NOT have the market cornered for sound quality or affordable pricing. as posted by by headphone.com This is where we boil it down all our headphone knowledge to its essence and recommend just ten headphones. So, in cost order, here they are: When we heard that Sennheiser had a new cheap sealed can we were pretty ho-hum about testing it, but HOLY COW the HD201 sounds great! Highly recommended for those looking for great sound, a seal from the outside world, and the convenience and comfort of a full-sized headphone and a price that is unbelievable for a headphone this good. Our favorite inexpensive general purpose headphone is the AKG K26P. It sounds good, folds up to easily tuck away in it’s pouch, and it’s sealed to shut you away from outside noise. For a little better sound, but without the seal have a look at the Koss Porta Pro or the almost as good sounding, but way better looking, Sennheiser PX100. The Grado SR60 has long been the recommended entry point for folks looking for great sound on headphones. Maybe our favorite can in the Grado line, the SR60 likely delivers the best sound quality under $100. Sure it’s not the best looking pair of headphones, but your not going to mind with a noggin full of great sound. Its $99 price tag makes the Sennheiser HD280 Pro the “go to” recommendation for full-sized, sealed headphones. Great sound wins our heart over but a very good seal, and the ability to fold up into a small space, make these headphones a spectacular buy. Serious travelers know that in-ear-monitors (IEMs) provide far better isolation and listening than noise-canceling headphones. The best thing to ever happen to an iPod, the Etymotic ER6i is a great mix of audio performance, sound isolation, and price. Shure’s IEMs have been a little hit and miss in the past---no longer! Their E4C is not only terrific sounding but the entire build quality/ergonomics/looks equation is a total winner. These cans are punchy and swell through the midrange, an unusual mix for IEMs at this price. For a slightly quicker or more forward sounding top-of-the-line headphone, the Sennheiser HD 595 approaches it’s big brother HD 650 in performance but provides a bit quicker sound. The latest incarnation of Sennheiser’s top-of-the-line headphone is the HD650 and, boy, does it sound good! The sound is refined with a slight tendency toward the warm side. Match it up with a cable upgrade, a world class amplifier, and a reference source and we guaranty you one of the purest high-end listening experiences you’ve ever had. When money is no object, the UltimateEars UE10 Pro will satisfy. Simply put, these are the best sounding headphones---and possibly the best sound, period---we’ve ever heard. To complete the list we’ve included the headphone geek pleasing AKG K1000. These cans provide the most speaker like presentation of any headphone. A tad shy at either extreme and sorely in need of a very articulate 20 watt power amp, these headphones … ear speakers, really … sound extraordinary when driven well. 10 Best Headphones Sennheiser HD 201 Unbelievable! Cheap, sealed, full-sized headphones that sound astonishingly good. These are the perfect gift headphone. (Get one for yourself first, though.) $24.95 $19.95 AKG K 26 P Oh, yeah! This is the killer little rock/rap headphone for walking around. Excellent sound; tight bass, good seal! $56.30 $44.95 Sennheiser PX 100 Excellent sound, unbelievable ergonomics, fantastic price; a must have upgrade for your portable player. $59.95 $49.99 Grado SR 60 Though obviously lacking in style, these cans have long set the standard for sound quality among inexpensive headphones. $69.00 $69.00 Sennheiser HD 280 Pro High marks for this good sounding sealed headphone. And not too expensive! $199.95 $99.99 Etymotic ER-6i Etymotic's cure for the sickly stock iPod earbuds, but they also work great on any portable player. $149.00 $139.00 Shure E4C Shure’s latest generation in-ear-monitor is a winner. $299.00 $299.00 Sennheiser HD 650 Simply the world’s best headphone. $549.95 $499.99 Ultimate Ears UE-10 Pro The perfect headphone. $950.00 $900.00 AKG K 1000 An amazing and interesting pair of headphones. Competes for top honors. $1260.00 $999.00 gluck with yo search peace+'spect fable |
