follow the care instructions you got with it, which should say something to the effect of: wet a q-tip with warmish water to remove all "crusties", then suds up with antibacterial soap, then rinse with bactine solution (available from drugstore). After youve gone thru the 4-6 weeks of "healing" (please note navel piercings take much longer than that for most), then treat any flare-ups by going back to clenaing routine, and perhaps give contact solution a try if it seems too irritated by bactine. My mum uses it on her navel when it acts up (And I've used it on just about every other piercing I have).

buy this moisturising solution called "satin", usually you can get it at a professional piercers it's very good at cleaning your piercing and not as drying or harsh as bactine or other anti-bacterial solutions. i beleive they even use it in hospitals. that's what i've used on all my piercings and i haven't had a problem with any. except two that got ripped out in a mosh pit...but that's not due to cleaning problems. and hopefully they put in a CBR ring when they pierced you because they are much easier to care for than barbells, and heal faster. hopefully you don't sleep on your stomach because...well...good luck with that |

i am curious, where did you get it done?
ps. sea salt is the shit. mix a bit with some warm water and soak it every night before bed..............and like janette(sorry if i spelled that wrong) said.....it will heal itself....sea salt speeds the process. but it can also dry it out too much.....so be cautious ;) |
