Yikes Canucks fell asleep cause of the big lead. Its happened to colorado twice too.

Luckily we smartened and Linden came through in the clutch.

I think Naslund is up for some stiff competition from Jaromir Jagr though...I remember Jagr won the Art Ross trophy 3 years in a row...not bad for a european

Jagr´s success:

2x Stanley Cup winner (1991, 1992)
5x Art Ross Trophy (1995, 1998 - 2001)
1x Hart Trophy (1999)
2x Lester B. Pearson Award (1999, 2000)
6x 1. All Star Team (1995-96, 1998-2002)
3x 2. All Star Team (1994, 1997, 2003)
13x hattrick (the most points in one match 7 (3+4) vs NY Islanders
in 1999-2000 season) and 01-11-03 (3+4) in game vs. Florida
1x Olympic games winner (1998)
1x bronze medal from World Championship (1990)

Antenna Boy most of that was before the 2000, and all star games don't mean much either seeing as if your a fan favorite majority wise you get in no matter what. Look at Mike Modana last season with his - rating and like 10 goals still got in.

Alot of peopel will get points. I'm going on a limb and saying top point are something more like 112 to 120 like what sakic used to get and alot of others.

but ya go naslund. hopefully jagr loses straka to i njury hah

Lol.. you're on crack.

I think "What no-one remembers" pretty much implies an "EXCEPT ME" after it.

Thats kinda like how i think of the 94/95 finals when linden scored both our goals in that game and Nathan Lafayette or however his name is spelt his the goddamn post

You should not be so mean about injuries that hockey players may sustain during a game (ie. eye injuries or whatever). Honestly I would love to see Naslund get the art ross trophy...he deserves it.

Ya i know i'm joking but it really would help Naslund.

I gues we wait till the end of the season NAZZY had it in 2002 but just like the canucks he choked as well.

^ he would have had the Art Ross, Lester B Pearson, and Hart Trophy if he had won the point race instead of forsberg winning it and Naslund only getting the Lester B.

Plus the canucks prob would have won the division .

Hey Kenji. If we are still talking about the 2002 Cup season where Naslund got scooped out of the trophy huntings by Peter Foresberg, that year was actually 2003. 2002 is when Jarome Iginla won the trophy. So with that said and done, let's look at the Art Ross trophy winners dating back to 1981 when Wayne 'the great one' Gretzky won the trophy, even though Elmer Lach of the Montreal Canadians scored most points when the award had its debut in 1948:eyes:

2006 - To be announced
2005 - no winner due to lockout
2004 - Martin St. Louis, Tampa Bay Lightning, 94
2003 - Peter Forsberg, Colorado Avalanche, 106
2002 - Jarome Iginla, Calgary Flames, 96
2001 - Jaromir Jagr, Pittsburgh Penguins, 121
2000 - Jaromir Jagr, Pittsburgh Penguins, 96
1999 - Jaromir Jagr, Pittsburgh Penguins, 127
1998 - Jaromir Jagr, Pittsburgh Penguins, 102
1997 - Mario Lemieux, Pittsburgh Penguins, 122
1996 - Mario Lemieux, Pittsburgh Penguins, 161
1995 - Jaromir Jagr, Pittsburgh Penguins, 70
1994 - Wayne Gretzky, Los Angeles Kings, 130
1993 - Mario Lemieux, Pittsburgh Penguins, 160
1992 - Mario Lemieux, Pittsburgh Penguins, 131
1991 - Wayne Gretzky, Los Angeles Kings, 163
1990 - Wayne Gretzky, Los Angeles Kings, 142
1989 - Mario Lemieux, Pittsburgh Penguins, 199
1988 - Mario Lemieux, Pittsburgh Penguins, 168
1987 - Wayne Gretzky, Edmonton Oilers, 183
1986 - Wayne Gretzky, Edmonton Oilers, 215
1985 - Wayne Gretzky, Edmonton Oilers, 208
1984 - Wayne Gretzky, Edmonton Oilers, 205
1983 - Wayne Gretzky, Edmonton Oilers, 196
1982 - Wayne Gretzky, Edmonton Oilers, 212
1981 - Wayne Gretzky, Edmonton Oilers, 164

SO hopefully we can see that with the new rules of the NHL and Martin st. Louis of Tampa only had to make 94 points for the win of the A.R. trophy, a player may need at least 110 points to qualitfy for the award should the average goals scored by one team average just over 5! And I would like to make a correction to Jagr’s profile where he won the trophy 4 consecutive years in a row =)

I am pretty sure this year. The top people ar eall gonna be hovering around 120 points.

P.S: Someone phoned in a really good comment on t.v about the NHL shooouts.

"If the NHL had known the game was gonna be played the way it is with lots of goals, skating and most games being decided before overtime, I don't think they would have implemented a shooout"

Pretty smart considering its true

The top players may not have to hover around the 120 mark because the goalies, if they improve in some miraculous way, may actually decrease that mark...so to say 110 points is to be on the safe side...who knows what year this could bring..we may actually be able to witness players increasing their number of points in past years to realistically achieve career highs this season from those who were getting measely point totals in past seasons. Look out for an overall increase in player points throughout the teams this year.

i'm still gonna go with 120 as the highest point total averages haha.

could totally be off but i think its achievable in this NHL though if goalie get better than not. but if the average like 3.00 Goals Against remains were gonna see alot of 120 point gettings.

Poor brodeur so far. Did you think you would ever see the New Jersey Devils have a higher goals against than their goals for

Thats like in the 90's when almost everyone was achieving at least 40 points.

and the decent players were making like 60+ like linden etc..

Stars were making like 110, 120 and like rediculous point totals
