Man its official I Steve Mccarthy in mind has to go. He is the only defensemen i'll say that about. He inconsitent. He is suppose to be an offensive defensmen yet I see him have a whole 1 point.

and his defense turnovers always costs us. Look at today's game I can't stand him. I don't think we should still be hanging on to him

Position: Defenseman Shoots: Left
Height: 6' 1" Weight: 198
Born: Feb 3, 1981
Origin: Trail, BC, CAN
Chicago Blackhawks's 1st-round choice (23rd overall) in the 1999 NHL Entry Draft.

I think that we should give him a chance...he is no Mattias Ohlund, but think about when Ohlund first came in to the NHL..he was no pro....he made LOTS of mistakes...and now Steve McCarthy is playing with some of the leagues top defensive players (aka. Jovanovski and OHLUND respectively). He has to get used to the NEW NHL rules...and for defense, that is a HUGE ADJUSTMENT! Look at Ohlund, he made some mistakes too, and that cost the canucks on the penalty kill...so loosen up Kenji...let's wait it out and have PATIENCE for this young lad :sixpak:

No when Ohlund came in to the league he was still a fairly good player. Hello did u see his rookie year?

He got 30 points in his first season and plus 3. Not superb but pretty good I see nothing even close to good about mccarthy. Plus he's averaged around close to 30 points except for one season.

Oh ya MCCARTHY IS NOT A ROOKIE he played for chicago from 99/2000 to 2003/2004

Its the mistakes he's making that are costly like against dallas. All it took was one little push with the dallas players shoulder to get mccarthy off him and leave himself wide open in front.

Ohlund was a rookie on the canucks Mccarthy is not a rookie

We got him because the rules were suppose to work in his favour and he was suppose to be able to use the open ice but so far he has 1 whole point.

we need allen back Asap.

I won't lay off Mccarthy because he isn't a rookie. He's played in the NHL for like 5 seasons. If he were a rookie i would go real easy on him but he isnt

I know he is not a rookie..but I am just saying that he is just playing like a rookie..an underachieving rookie :(

and I'm saying he we got him because he was suppose to be an offensive defensmen who uses open ice passes etc..

but all i've seen is him make mistakes, and not really help out on the goal situation though he has tough competetion around him.

Canucks D are excellent offensively
