Now I haven't seen this film, but let me go out on a limb here.. 50 cent plays an aspiring rapper whose career is threatened by player haters, worthless ho's and The Man, but he rises above them all to become a superstar, and gets filthy rich in the process.

Sounds like an ego wank to me. The thing is, to make a film like this, you have to believe that people are going to be really fascinated by YOU.

Man, I'm not interested in the real 50 cent, why would I want to see a damn movie.

Blech don't get me started on the damn Usher movie.

I hate the stupid, "Hey I'm a rich singer/rapper and I have the money to make a movie so let's go do it!" formula. Even if they DO have some acting talent, you'd think they'd play a role that isn't related to what they normally do.

The only time I admit the formula working is for 8 Mile. That was actually really good attempt. It just told a story, nothing too pretentious. The rap battles were on the verge of that though.
