Just finished Memoirs of a Geisha by Arthur Golden. Read it because of the high popularity of it on this site and because the movie looked to be very good... the book was amazing, the movie was OK... I'd give the book a 8.5/10 - it's main points were a lovely intake into a beautiful culture, written perfectly with desprictiveness and the characters were believable and likeable (except maybe the part where the main character is totally and completely obsessed with the chairman since she was like 9...). Recommended read, however.

^i want to. i think my mom gave me a copy to read.

A Million Little Pieces by James Frey

i almost cried. twice. one of the most powerful books i have ever read. the thing that makes it even more powerful is that it is a memoir and that it all happened. not only is the story engaging and wonderful and the characters fantastic...but the writing is original, snappy and creative. i've never read a book like this before.

10/10
