- walmart - love it or hate it?

The BIG problem I have with the way Walmart treats their employees is that beyond low wages they work every angle to screw them over. Start with a 25 hour work week that gets them out of paying benifits (that a full time employee would be deserved) and the fact that they recomend their employees to utilize social services (they encourage them to!!). Their was a study done showing that Walmart was costing the State of California 800 million a year (????? I forget the exact amount) in social services.

Walmart are the fuckers that are abusing the system not single mothers.

As for the products that say "made in US" or "made in Canada"... well it's most likly that the parts were made in a 3rd world country, shiped to the US ro Canada and than assembled here to get the "made in US" or "made in Canada" stamp.

What angers me the most is not so much that the products we buy are made in sweatshops or served to us by cheep labour... it's how we pay about 80% more than what the cost to make it was. All the extra money that we pay for our products go into fancy stores and advertisment. Micheal Jordan will get millions from nike when a child making the shoes will barly earn $2 a day in a sweat shop (maybe less?)
