100% in agreement with Jake. expecially with the conservatives "re-opening same-sex marriage, cutting the gst, giving parents 1,200 a year for kids under six even though we JUUUUST decided on a national daycare plan." those are just bad policies plain and simple. I also like the NDP to be in power but thats not likely plus i live in dt Vancouver and the is no way i'm voting for Sven. Most people dt think he's trying in this riding because he thinks he can ride the gay vote which has pretty much angered the community. Hedy Fry has always done a pretty good job here so why change something that isn't broken.

Im still torn on this one...i strongly believe in what the ndp stands for and i think jack layton would be a gream pm but i know that he has no chance. and i dont belive in most of what the conservatives stand for so i will definitly not vote for them. the liberals have been in power to long and they have disgraced themselves, how does that make our country look? but i must admit, the liberals arent doing a bad job, i support alot of the current bills that are in the process that would just get thrown out if the liberals get thrown out. so i am torn between the ndp and liberals. and as far as i know they are pretty close in the ridings for this area. i think i need to sleep on this...
either way....DONT VOTE CONSERVATIVES |

it is a help besides where are the liberals gonna put all these childcare centers?? Who will build them?? Who will staff them?? Who will supply food?? What will the limit be on children?? so on and so forth I don't see the Daycare program being in operation for probably 7 years with the way our government moves.. Not to mention BC will get 5 centers while the east gets one on every other block.

I voted for Don Bell (liberal). I may have rather of voted NDP, but it's going to be a close one between the Libs and Concervatives in North Van.

I don't think there is a huge problem with actual daycare centres. Alot of the problem starts with the funding and substeady for lower income famalies. The daycare centre I often work at lost over 25 kids when cut backs were made 4-5 years ago (provincal problem) However I could also see staffing being a problem since daycare workers dont make very much esopecialy if they have a degree. It's not so much about the government making daycares it's self, but putting more money towards funding them. |
