But good on you for talking back to the promoter who controls the one party you could have gotten your big break on. Enjoy your closet! |

personally i think there is just as much unproffesionalism coming from the likes of "the one big promoter bla bla xould have gotten you your big break bla bla"
tech, the joke was light at first, carlos aint no flippant asshole, and he does sincerely care about fledgling talent and such, but were talking about YOU here and your image as an artist is important. It may be superficial but if your serious about what you do, dont let it get dreagged in the mud by your own doings, enough people will do that on their own. for the sake of trying to salvage a thread and put it to bed nicely, heres a few suggestions: I draw parallels between what a dj/producer would put up as references and what i would put in a profesional portfolio for potential clients, and fellow designers to look at. I wouldnt put in extranious information about things that really have no bearing on my skills, talent or experience. -so putting in stuff about what chat boards you have been on is inappropriate. What bearing does it have? To prove your a "scenster?" or a "head?" Who gives a shit, focus on what YOU DO- which is make music. -you currently have one mix, no production, and very minimal links? Is this bad? No, but that speaks volumes of where youre at in your development, so putting information in your profile that contradicts that, comes off as false. There nothing wrong with the bedroom dj, some of the most talented djs in the planet started off in the real "labs" which where makeshift rigs in their bedroom in their parents basement! It part of the process right? But how far are you going to go with promoting a larger image then that. Some "buffing" for the sake of promotion is acceptable and expected, but there has to be a balance. And you know by now, that a friendly diss on this board turns into a right quick swarming pretty fast, so you gotta pick your battles. I think it was all in good humour for awhile, but things escalated. The lazers are weak bro, and so is the newer avatar, if you really want a good promo one, send me a pic, and ill rip something off for yeah, and im sure there some cats on this board that far more talent than i, that would offer to do the same. Somtimes subtlety is powerful, ya dig? ps avana, some comments you make are not very indictative of your own sig: Quote:

im not trying to make peacemaker, but i think what started off as harmless turned into both a promoter and a dj, saying things out of anger, and both not being very profesional in a public forumn, And for the record tech, carlos aka c_squared has been rocking the dnb thing for quite some time wearing multiple hats. Asides from his dj work, hes one of the three headz that keep out blessed nwdnb up and running, and has also worn the hat of promoter on several occasions for quite some time. What the fuck does this mean? LEGITEMACY. Which along with some talent, a blend of subtle and outrageous, and some people skills gets local heads those slots they want. gluck bro. ps: ive been a dnb fan for well over a decade, and i absolutely hate trance music, but secretly i sometimes break out the ol sebfontain global underground mixes circa 2000 but shhhhhhhhhh dont tell anyone! :) peace+respect shak Last edited by fable; Dec 17, 05 at 08:38 AM. |
