People who have been to London....

In terms of electronic music, where is the best place to go to and when?
Also, any major festivals at high park or others?

In need of a vacation soon.

i didnt party righteously when i was their at any of the "super clubs" but i lived in north london(finsbury park) and there was hella wicked pubs to get right blitzed!

I did make it out to mass (brixton) for some good ol dnb, and a suprise show by 808 state!

of course this was five years ago, so i guess it aint much help

just check out any of the major sites for you music of choice, and hit up the events listings.

If dnb is your flavour then hit up the arena or doa for listings.

Fabric for sure. You have to go there.

Brixton Academy I think it's called for DnB.

fabric every friday for dnb, breaks and/or hiphop (farrington station)
never a dull time - you might see dj premier AND andy c one night, then tru playaz the next week, then the next week roots manuva dj'ing and unkle

usually 2 to 4 a-list acts per week and like 6+ good blist acts/dj's

unfuckwittable

movement thursdays at bar rumba (picadilly circus) - most famous dnb weekly in the world

killa kela's spitkingdom tuesdays at herbal (old st. station) every tues hiphop and dnb (where you see cats like goldie, nicky blackmarket, dj cash money for free!)

turnmills (farrington sttion), mass and brixton academy (both brixton station)have some alright one-offs

gilles petersons night mondays at rumba as well (he doesnt dj there much any more but the music is always fucking ill, but not so much electronic)

also, plastic people co-op (old st), every other sunday if you like broken beat & nu jazz (usually find bugz in the attic or 4hero cats djing there)

ministry is kinda...electric circusy...like, the roxy on granville, but house music and lots of europeans - saturdays anyway

fridays is urban - BIG reggae, hiphop, garage night

Definitely worth checking out, also the CDR night every 2nd Thursday of the Month @ Plastic People. ( this is a night where musicians can bring in a cd of their own music and play it at the club.) ANd when they play your song, your name will pop up on this huge screen along with the title of your song. That's an awesome concept they got going there!

here's their website

If you're planning on going in the summer, I would totally suggest going to the Notting Hill Fesitval/Carnival

August 27th – August 29th

"There really shouldn't be any need for us to tell you what goes on here! One of the largest street festivals in the world, this is a must-visit for any Londoner, whether it's for the food, the atmosphere, the ear-stunning soundsystems or, indeed, the whole package. "

The largest Carribean festival in the world. Like we're talking 1 million+ people over the 3 days.

Djs, huge jamacian soundsystems on big rig trucks, fancy parade people, drinking on the street, and it doesn't end for 3 days straight.
