holy shit that weekend went by really fast...
yesterday (saturday) was a bad day for me.. the hiphop was depressing, it was really fast and i had a hard time picking it up, so i went to the intermediate and it was way too slow. but the breaking with lady jules was amazing. i was so mad after saturday that i went back to burnaby after and danced at an open gym for 2 more hours to make myself feel better about dancing...whle doing that i sprained my arm (:( i cant completely straighten my left arm..grr)(its official.. im a really slow learner and hip hop really isnt my thing) today was a whole diff story, had house, waving locking, hiphop, old skool and more breaking..and it was a wicked day. picked up all the choreography really quickly and got in the groove of things. had a great time today, even bgirl'ed in the circle for a bit with my messed up arm woohoo. wicked choreography.. sooo much fun. lots of bumps, bruises and gimpy arm, but it was worth it. learned lots and got to meet tons of wicked dancers. (the locking class was sooooooo fun). ya had a great time, most likely gonna do it again next year and gonna try to even sign up for the audition stuff. there were tons of lil kids there and they kicked ass.. it was depressing to see 13 year olds busting out mad moves, while im completely lost and confused. kids these days are amazingggg. had a great time.. gonna be sore all week, but it was worth it. lady jules gave me a hat!!! yay! i did all the advance class except for one hiphop class in the intermediate section..which ended up being the worst routine anyways. had a great time.. i wussed out in dancing during the freestyle circle, but made up for it on sunday during the breakdance circle. felt sooo good..especially doing it in front of lady jules.. wanst a great run, but it went well. it was funny hearing so many ppl complain about breakdancing and being on the ground etc.. when i was the other way around complaining aboout hip hop.

TONS of poppers and lockers. there was one class that was all popping and another that was all locking.. 2 separate classes, they were tons of fun. it was nice to actually learn the foundations of both of them.
there were tons of lil kids that were pop locking like no tmrw.. im talking like 10-12 year olds. it was crazy. it was nice sweet to see a circle that wasnt all bboys/bgirls.. even hip hop girls that freestyled it out, looked sweet. there were definately some sick sick sick dancers that came out.. ms liquid haze can prob agree with me that during the last class there was a girl that was all pop lock that KILLED IT. she was amazing.. she was a pro pop/locker. |

was she only popping and locking.. or was she doing other stuff..
cuz if so.. then she was doing funkstyles.. i HATE when ppl call it poplocking.. if their doing other stuff.. but bev.. i think he's talking about bonsor.. are there any funkstylists there..?? FlorpIncarnate -- goto nustudios.com |

well it wasnt funk styles cuz the routine in the end was choregraphed..she just locked all her movements and in the routine where popping involved she did it really well as well. she was just really good.. im sure she was a funk styles, but im sayin her popping/locking movements were perfect.
bonsor is mostly strictly breaking... but it is an open gym, so you can do anything you want after you pay that 2 dollars. |
