Amber Alert
An amber alert was issued earlier this evening which I heard on the skytrain and the bus.
Looking for a 24 year old male, 6'0 tall about 200lbs driving white cherokee, first digits of plate number 003 (I think, I couldn't remember it all) Abducted a 3 mnth old girl. I can't find anyother info on it, but I thought I'd pass it on. |

I was actually quite impressed that the bus driver stopped to let us all know. |

I just watched the news, and it was during a supervised visit with the parents and the ministry. The child is a ward of the province and it was an hour and 30 minute visit with the parents. This begs two questions;
1. If it was so supervised, how did the parents manage to take off with the girl? 2. Would this have been heard about so quickly had it been a custody issue between two parents? |

This is only the second amber alert issued in BC ever. Apparently in the States a custody issue doesn't warrant the right to an Amber alert as they are much more common and the authorities feel too many of them would make them ineffective.
The alert has been lifted. The car was found, however the child has yet to be recovered. They think they are in the Lower Mainland somewhere. |

Seriously though, how during a supervised visit with the ministry do the biological parents just walk away with the child? Someone at the ministry seriously messed up..... http://www.theglobeandmail.com/servl...Story/National |
