I used to.
Now that I live downtown (and grown up a bit) I never do. Sure i'll have one or two, but beyond that. Hell no. My friends come in from the suburbs, get absolutely hammered and drive home. Fucking stupid. I try and tell them every time, try stealing the keys, etc. They've all got DUIs, some have been banned from driving for a year.. they NEVER learn. I hate to say it but it's gonna take them getting in an accident for them to learn. When they come downtown my place is always a crash pad, which helps. But for fuck sakes. I was in a bad accident a few years ago where the other driver was pissed drunk (mom, had fucking kids toys in the back of her minivan, luckly, no kids in the van) but the ambulance peeps went to her first as she was screaming so loud. Fuck if you have ANY sense whatsoever. Just don't do it. It's not worth, ESPECIALLY if you live in Van. Seriously, go pick up your ride the next day. It's a $20 cab from anywhere to anywhere in van if not less. If anyone has any links to those 'drive your car home for you' places, post em up here. It's the same price as a cab and soooo worth your life and the life of your girlfriend/wife, know what i'm sayin? |

Drinking and Driving is VERY selfish
everyone seems to think that they have some awsome skill where they're actually good at driving drunk cause they haven't got in an accident. But really they're just endangering everyones lives |

I did before. I hadent had a drink in just over 4 hours and drove my buddies car cuz he passed out. We tried to get a cab for so long and couldn't. No buses running our way either. We tried to find another driver, but I was like FUCK! home time, I am driving, I am fine.
I was fine, but ended up hitting a road block. Having the owner of the car passed out and me only having my N, on halloween, I got BUSTED! In my report, the only things saying I was under the influence was I was slouching and looked tired. No slurring of words, a bit of attitude though. WELL YA! I always slouch, no matter what, I am right now, ahah tired ya, I was trying to flag a cab down for an hour, it was late, no buses, I wanted to go home! Attitude, I always have attitude. But needless to say I got busted, had to go to the holding cell. Got out, didnt deal with my court day, friend crashed his car with me in it, had a warrent out for my arrest for not going to court, got arrested cuz of the stupid charge, spent a night in main street jail! GROSS! it sucked. Don't get in a car after drinking, even if you think your fine, cops can over react. What I did was stupid of me, but I didn't hurt anyone, I was not speeding, I got in alot of trouble cuz I had my N still, I was alot better off then the owner of the car, I just hit a road block. also, breathilizers are very very unacurate. How the hell does it go up and down then up again? |

No effin way. I get a CRS every 2 yrs and have a class 4 (both for work), and there is no way I would jeopardize those for sake of an evening of partying. Plan ahead and either get yourself a reliable ride, or be that reliable ride yourself. NO EXCUSES. And those are just my reasons. There are as many reasons not to drink and drive as there are innocent ppl on the roads. Don't be a selfish chump.

Sorry to play devils advocate here, but.....
Judging from the lack of response to this thread I think most people do (at least to some degree) drink and drive, and just don't want to fight about it on fnk. After all, whether you agree with it or not, bars do have parking lots. |
