VW golf makes it around the world on 24 tanks of gas.
Just saw on daily planet that a VW golf went around the world on 24 tanks of gas, making an awesome 4.1L/100km on more then one occassion.
That's pretty rad. Feul economy is the next big selling feature for cars and standards are supposed to increase around 18% in the next 6 years. I wonder if it's all for naught when I flip through and watch another program about super tankers and mammoth machines. More specifically, concerns about a monster of a ship that's used to pull vessels out of the water. With a top speed of 9 knots it burns 120 tons of fuel per day while travelling from destination to destination and anywhere from 60-80 tons of fuel per day to day operation. Not that I'm condemning the ship, it's one of a kind and designed with specific needs in minds. With rising fuel costs and ever increasing demands on engineers (and the environment) to design bigger, more powerful machines, the time frame we have to develop alternative high output fuel sources is growing shorter and shorter. |

And yes, the newer jettas are nice, if you mean the one produced in the first part of the '05 run, before the 16th anniversary edition change in body styling kicking in :P I personally don't care for the "new" look as much. Last edited by veN; Apr 05, 06 at 12:17 AM. |

Deisels exhaust comes out black when incomplete combustion occurs; In diesels there's no real set air fuel mixture as the turbo is trying to pump as much oxygen into the chamber as possible. Pull someones mass airflow sensor and throttle positition sensor while the vehicle is running and you can listen to it rev up until the engine seizes/explodes/little from column a and b Last edited by Goat; Apr 05, 06 at 12:26 AM. |
