Preferred car audio brands...

Specifically decks.

It's been about 6 years since I've had any sort of knowledge-based preference. Sony was the plague and Pioneer, Panasonic and Eclipse were in the good books. What's changed?

i think mr.aaron bradley has alpine, but i could be wrong. i wasnt really paying attention when he was buying it, i think i was playing with the digital cameras in the store or something.
his were really good until the sub he purchased from a friend broke. speakers are still good, and he dropped his screen thing so instead of dolphins its just all these crazy lines.

im going back to my morning cocktail now.

I'd have to say Alpine for decks and JL Audio for speakers/subs

decks=pioneer(depending on model, apperently their is a few lemons in the bunch)

the nak decks have great sound quality.

the pioneers I've seen and heard have been hit or miss.

the alpine's have always been top notch in my books.

eclipse is dope, but no removeable faceplate... alpine is always solid as well

Yup, you can't go wrong with alpine.

Alpine is nice because they tend not to be overly flashly and also tend to have better THD specs.

When I was young We used to keep the nakamichis for ourselves and sell the other shit.

HAHA!, I was just thinking the same thing!, Cuz all I rock is Alpine, Deck, Type-R 12's, 3 inch 2 ways, and Alpine V12 x 2 amps. Lets just say, I haven't owned a sicker system, alot of ppl are very surprised of the clarity of my stereo at high volumes. Alpine has the highest quality EQ's and controls than any other brand, Just cuz it has a flashy LCD screen doesn't mean it's the best you can get....Alpine decks are all EQ. Quality.

edit. And the Type R subs are sick as well, clear and defined bass, not all sloppy sounding and shit....

Pioneer always makes solid decks.

I rocked the 1000 for 2 yrs a while back. Solid output + crazy features.

For SUBS .. nothing beats KICKER! - SOLOBARICS babY!

amazing sound quality... not the most fancy looking deck but if u dont care what it looks like... its definitley up there for sound quality.. i listened to a bunch of decks before buying mine and eclipse seemed to be the most crisp and shit even at higher volumes.. very little distortion even at max volume
