Free income tax service website
There is a link to http://www.cutetax.ca on the government tax site http://www.cra.gc.ca
Cutetax is a web software system that will do most of the work on your income tax for you. You just need to have the numbers ready to fill in. It's similar to software that you buy, it generates a data file that you transfer to the gov tax site. Takes a while to figure out, but it's fairly easy. There is a fee of $8.95 if your income is over $25,000. If the income is lower than that, it's FREE. I tried it and it's pretty good, I already did my return on the standard paper forms and it found an error and also figured out some complex details that I was just gonna skip to avoid the hassle that might get me only $10 of increased refund. It is capable of handling a complicated tax return. So if anyone hasn't done their return yet and want a cheap (maybe free) & easy solution, check cutetax. |

looks like a phishing site.
https://2005.quicktaxweb.ca/app/secure/signin If you have a gross income (line 150) of $25,000 or less, you can prepare your tax return with QuickTaxWeb at no cost. If eligible, you can also file your return using NETFILE for no charge. QuickTaxWeb will automatically determine your eligibility - you don't need to worry about a thing. I just bought the program, then expensed it afterwards. Last edited by narc; Apr 29, 06 at 03:30 PM. |

As I said before, there is a link to CuteTax at the Revenue Canada site so the software has been certified by the tax guys (CRA).
