if you're pregnant

don't neglect milk in you're diet. somethin in the newspaper said that lack of milk in a mother's diet can have the same effects as a pregnant smoker.

as a smoker?? whered you get that? Unless in means size, yes studies show that women who dont have an average of 1 cup of milk a day while pregnant will have smaller babies. And technically a big baby is a healthy baby, but these days 6lbs is a small baby that used to be average!
Butr that is nowhere near the only affects of smoking, not enough milk, and tobacco are different issues.

milk isn't even overly healthy in the first place. humans aren't meant to ingest another animal's milk. get calcium from other places and drink soy milk if you want to be a "healthy preggo"

So human's aren't meant to ingest another animal's milk, but they ARE meant to ingest milk from a bean?

^sure? I dno.

All Im sayin, is milk isn't healthy like everyone seems to think. Everyone just thinks it is because the companies drill their bs message into the consumers. Feedin it to young children can cause all sorts of bad effects like ear infections etc.

Every day, I eat at least:

1 cup of 2% cottage cheese
1 cup of fat-free yogurt
3 cups of 1% milk
... and god knows how many slices of cheese :P

All I've been craving throughout this whole pregancy is dairy! So she should be one healthy baby!

Soy bean is natutally VERY LOW in calcium. The idea that soy milk can replace cow's milk as a healthy alternative stems from millions of dollars in marketing. In fact, the calcium in soy milk usually comes from ground-up oyster shells (just like antacids or calcium supplements). Plus, it's not absorbed as well as calcium in cow's milk so you need to consume almost 1.5 times as much.

ilk & oyster shells: that's where calcium comes from. If you know a better source, tell me because I'd love to be a millionaire. If you think you can get enough from orange juice or figs or some shit, you're gonna get osteoporosis. :)

youre on calcium overload.youre not supposed to exceed more then 2500 mg a day of calcium. One cup of milk contains approx 325 or 340mgs of calcium.A good target to be in is atleast 1500mgs of calcium per day.Your prenatal vitamins also have 1 serving of calcium in them equivalent to like 325-340 or something mgs.

getting too much calcium can be potentially harmful to your health.
