Ya baby!! So did ya get around to watching Team America yet? I've been watching a movie or 2 pretty much every shift. And now that I've got my SNES emulator and a bunch of ROMs on my computer, I'm getting lots of gaming done. And I occassionally take a call now and then. |

I work as customer support and marketing assistant for NPO services. We conduct the charity lotteries such as the Variety lottery and the Heart and Stroke lottery. I am being severly underpaid for the crap I have to put up with. $11/hr... Looking for ANYTHING else that pays $15+ so I can buy a new car before going back to school. Probably will end up doing construction cuz those jobs are a dime a dozen. Would prefer to continue doing office/business related work though, would be good considering thats what im going to school for....

I work for a company by the name of Vivendi Games - they own Blizzard Entertainment (makers of World of Warcraft), High Moon Studios, Radical Entertainment here in Van, Swordfish Studios in the UK and Massive Entertainment in Sweden.
I'm the Team Lead for the Global Staffing & Workforce Planning Group. Basically that means that the team and I recruit experienced professionals for all of the studios listed above (Art/Creative, Software Engineers and Producers, Creative Directors/Executives). My salary/wage is private info so like Yoko I will say that I'm content with where it is at however as I achieve my personal/professional objectives I will ask for more :p Will I be here in 5-10 years - I doubt it as this industry changes so much although it is very incestuous so I expect I will still be in the gaming industry just in more of a senior position. |

I work at a greek restaurant as a server/ bartender...I really like it because tips are the sweet shit...I dont have to split them up with anyone else in the restaurant so I end up going home with a good amount even after a 4 hour shift....
I go to school, will be getting my Bachelor of Arts degree, so in 10 years I hope to be a teacher...or maybe even have gone to law school after I get my degree, and be making the crazy dough..who knows?.... But while I am in college, my job pays the bills. |

I work as an undergraduate nurse at vancouver general hospital in the cardiac care unit and also have a second job as a mental health care worker for a program called 'assisted living towards independence'
I can't see myself being a mental health care worker in 5-10 years, but seeing as I'm a nursing student, I'll be definitely be working in the nursing profession for many years to come. I honestly can't see myself working in any other field. with nursing, I get a decent wage with good benefits, many opportunities to travel, the feeling that you've made a difference in people's lives, and best of all, crazy cool gore that the average person will probably never see in their life time!!! |

I work in the back office for The Toronto Dominion Bank, up until friday i worked for the commercial credit compliance group, administrating all the collateral we need to take for a commercial clients and engaging with our lawyers to make sure eveything is done correctly. Now im moving over to the personal banking side to do essentially the same thing with some loan accounting thrown in the mix. The job itself isnt very challenging but the people i work with are great. Pay isnt fantastic but i dont plan on staying there past spring 07. As my true ambition is to be selected for an investment banking analyst position for any one of the IB houses in Vancouver.
I know they dont usually start interviewing or hiring for those positions until december-july, and i dont have a chance competing against the other candidates until i pass my first cfa exam. So im just studying lots, trying to network with people in the business and biding my time. If im successful I will be doing really exciting and challenging work 80 hours a week as well as making retarded amounts of money(for a recent grad) by next year. If im really successful i could be making three or four million dollars a year in ten or fifteen years, but im much more likely to be a burnt out headcase or doing somehting entirely different. |
