2nd Annual HipHop Festival Against War + Occupation
(This is a call for endorsers, volunteers, sponsors and artists - Festival pre-information soon to follow in several days from now)
Mobilization Against War and Occupation is fully stoked to be hosting the 2nd Annual Vancouver HipHop Festival Against War and Occupation and has began with peripheral organizing and planning. The festival last year was an immense success and this festival is essentially the only one of its kind in the world, in terms of having both an entertaining event that revolves around Mcing, Breakdancing, and Graffiti in congruence with political forums and an overall core of antiwar/occupation awareness and organizing. Currently we are in discussion with people in the political/hiphop community who would like to get involved. There are several avenues for involvement including the perfromance end of things (Mcing, Breakdancing, Graffiti), the financial/supportive end of things (sponsorship, endorsement, donation of prizes, media, venue donation and several other areas) and of course, getting involved with antiwar/occupation organizing. If you are interested please feel free to contact myself at: [email protected] or 604.719.7410 or pm me. You can also come join us at our weekly meetings at Britannia Community Center (Napier + Commercial Drive – in the lower conference room under the library[enter through the side lower door]), [email protected] or any and all upcoming events. We will be getting in touch with all past supporters but if you have to time, don’t hesitate to get in touch with us! Currently the festival is planned to break out in July (21st-23rd) but when information if finalized, it will be posted ASAP.
