just bought my laptop

i just paid for it, and im waiting to get my order in next week. for those who are wondering its a MacBook. i upgraded to 1 gig ram. and got the applecare.

i am interested to know if the fan make alot of noise.
my compaq centrino notebook is super quiet and runs cool.
my acer celeron notebook is like a jet takin off sometimes and it runs hot.
i can't stand the stupid acer.

My MacBook Pro seems to have a messed up fan on the right-hand side (near the speaker) that starts and stops all the time. It is pretty loud, and sounds a bit like there is a snake in my computer (hissing). It doesn't ramp up in speed (like the one on the left). I'll give AppleCare a call and see if they are working on some sort of software update for this issue. Hopefully I won't have to take the computer in to be fixed already!

The MacBook Pro also gets quite hot. My old PowerBook would get very toasty on the top-left-hand side of the laptop (above the keyboard). The MacBook Pro gets hot on both the top-left and top-right.

I got a 13" Intel Chip. Its just the regular MacBook, it is superquiet. no problems. the exact total with everythign i got is $2189.94. I got the 1 gig ram upgrade and the Applecare Plan.

IF YOU ARE DECIDING TO BUY
buy it from westworld computers on west broadway. If you buy the Applecare Plan from there, and you have no need to service your mac for the three years of the service plan, they will give you the amount you spent on the Applecare Plan (which is 299) as credit towards somethign else from the store. SO BUY IT FROM THERE.

it has a smartfan which turns on when necessary and adjusts the speed itself. and its superquiet. and dosent get hot. maybe just warm.

i had that same problem with my PowerBook.

no catches, straight up. everything is straight forward, and they even help you finance.

very nice people too, they said as soon as my Laptop comes in, they will call me right away, and even dance for me when i come in to pick it up, lol.


I didnt give in, lol, i bought the white one, with 1 gig ram upgrade, and i didnt even upgrade the HDD, im just gonna buy a portable harddrive, its more secure as well as more effecient.

its so awsome tho, ever since i bought it, ive been looking into mac magazines and websites and i see so many awsome things for it, that make it more and more better. its awsome. best investment ever.
