It is. Good call...you were the first person to call that.

<3

I want to go soooo bad, but it's going to be a challenging operation to get want I want out of it.

hm. to get back on topic, I should also mention that I don't even really fit into the dnb clique as much anymore. there was a time when I knew everyone...but then I went away for 2 years, the crowd changed alot and even those that I knew before are more distant since its been so long.

so does that mean i am in my own clique of one?

YES I am an individual!

There are powers in numbers and the more people you recognize, remember, or know the further it will take you. Sincerity goes along way in any scene and most people can see right through insincere individuals.

heh... if more people when out these events, no matter what the style of music, the number of outsiders would grow.

Interesting topic mate.

sounds exactly like it is here in glasgow, it has its core groups within each genre, but all in all its a pretty friendy scene. im into alot of differents styles and feel comfortable and know most of the faces in the DnB , breaks and Techno scenes and would consider myself part of those core groups. but then again i DJ and have been puting on nights for a few years so i guess it just comes with the territory, and before that i was trying hard to push myself as a dj, so i made a point of geting to know people in the scene, very rarely did i meet someone i didnt like or get on with.
Funny thing is i LOVE hip hop but dont really feel part of that seen, but then again the Glasgow hip hop scene has far to many over inflated egos and not enough talent unfortnatly.

Bump this thread in a couple of months ,once iv moved to Vancouver, where ill simply be a new face, i'll see how many cliques i can infiltrate :D

I belong to the either you're with me or against me crew.

Those who know me realize that i don't fake, backstab or hate. I have my friends into dnb, hip hop, the oldschool friends, randoms from school, people i just meet randomly.

I'm quite the loner so sometimes people think i don't want to hang out but thats not the case. I just like plenty of time to think and reflect. People come and go in my circle.

There is probably only 1 person in my life who i can completely confide in and who completely knows my story of where i'm from and where i'm going.

loner 4 life.

cliques sound so exclusive. but yeah, there are friends i hang out with a lot more often than others. i didn't find it hard to meet people here because of cliques at all. i didn't know anyone when i moved here from the island and i know tons of you now, from all kinds of different "cliques".

haha, i knew you'd be the one to say something. sometimes i think people mistake "being part of a clique" with "being likable and having friends".

nope. no cliques.

the majority of ppl i meet in the "community" are dishonest and fronting a facade so i'll stick to my real friends and not bother with others unless they deem themselves worthy.
sounds kinda high and mighty but shit, thats how it is i guess.

uh, if you went to the same place and listented to the same kind of music all the time you become familiar with people. i think it could happen anywhere. and dnb being the small community it is, new people are more than welcome. i know i was and i've made some amazing friends. new people are always a nice change from the regular sometimes. you need variety in life.

I'm a part of the anti-clique clique.

Heh, really, I'm too much a lover of all the scenes (to a degree), to be a part of any specific scene clique. Guess that'd make me a drifter of sorts.
