Interesting story, the lady who owned Crime Lab, owns and runs (the almost as cool) Fiction on West Broadway! Well it's just as hip minus the cool building (ala the Lab). She also owns Lucy May Brown, oh my. Fiction is great, I had a couple pints there last night. |

There was a bartender at 555 Vibes who made like the best martinis and cocktails ever. I always just told him the kind of taste I was looking for or just one ingrdiant and he would make something totaly orriginal and out there.
Otherwise keep an eye out for places that have specials on martinis on certain days... bad news! |

*ahem*
"Definitions of martini on the Web: * Fields' favorite alcoholic beverage; a mixture of gin and vermouth. He liked it cold and with an olive. www.louisville.edu/~kprayb01/WCWords.html * [mahr-TEE-nee] Said to have been named after the company of Martini & Rossi (famous for their Vermouth), this cocktail is made with gin and vermouth, garnished with either a green olive or a lemon twist. The less vermouth it contains, the "drier" it is. A martini may be served straight up or on the rocks. It may also be made with vodka, in which case it`s called a vodka martini. A Gibson is a martini garnished with a tiny white onion. www.mychefcoat.com/terms-m.html * a cocktail made of gin (or vodka) with dry vermouth wordnet.princeton.edu/perl/webwn " _ANYTHING_ else is just a cocktail! And, back in the '40's/'50's, all these cocktails had their own special glasses to be served in. Frosty (hates pretentious, fou-fou, FAKE "martini" lists) |
