WHP is bunk as shit. thank god they got out of the scene when he did, i hope they were able to at least grasp some shread of their dignity before they left. i remember back about 2 years ago i saw sir k at the lotus and i was like, "hey! your that guy that run that crapy ass production company. sir k is it? " he was like "no, i'm not sir-k" "then why is it the last time i saw you you introduced yourself as sir-k of wicked house party?" he was speachless. it really must suck ass being so ashamed of who you are that when people ask you who you are you have to pretend you're someone else. The whole "anti-Wickedhouseparty" thing really hurt me because I put my career on pause for 4 years and went at this thing hard. Sure maybe I made mistakes, everyone does and I'm not going to deny that I made some doozies; but I was passionate, I wanted to do something good for people, I wasn't trying to make a dime off of any partykids, at $5 or less how on earth could I? I am still amazed at these idiots flagging me and WHP like I was everything bad with the scene, while they have no problem with people throwing parties for $40-$60 a ticket that are oversold with huge lineups and hundreds and in some cases thousands of people who are completely ripped off. I'll never forget "Dreamscape" or whatever that was called, where the promoter booked DJs from all over the place and then not only didn't show up with gear but came back and stole the DONATION jar for the DJs whilst peeps slapped together something quick and dirty so people didn't have to go home disappointed. I had nothing to do with the good or the bad of that situation at all but I've always been a bit appalled that I took all this heat while total fucking crooks like that were out there and all I was trying to do was throw free or dirt cheap events in the genre. Hey, not all of our events were blockbusters, but we gave 'er shit and did our best. We threw some serious rocking events, both in my own house as well as in other venues. Now that I am out of the scene, I really dont give a shit what anybody thinks. These fools put me in a position where I had no choice, me and my crew were busting our asses with our own personal money that we knew we wouldn't make back and I couldn't let these fucking jokers call us all down over god knows what little petty greivance they had, if they had any, I had to respond. Now that I'm out of promoting and all that crap I'm very happy. It's so childish the politics, it's all about just having a fucking ripping time with some hammer music and these guys want to make it so complicated. As a promoter I could care less if I made every single person in the scene happy, much less those who swore to their graves that they would never attend our events. And for the record, - Wickedhouseparty events were never thrown in my parent's residences, they live in Powell River so that would be one hell of a trip - Wickedhouseparty events were either thrown in my own home (which I pay rent for), in a paid venue or in a club (the majority were in clubs). - Wickedhouseparty never charged more than $5.00 for an event. We initially intended to charge no more than $2.00 but costs were higher than we could manage at that level - Wickedhouseparty was the first hard electronic promotion house to make use of Tribeca. We started the venue so that shit about how it was empty, while it wasn't true (Kent never showed up, I've met Kent and I know exactly what he looks like), it was empty sometimes, when you start a venue dry it's like sucking blood from a stone - Wickedhouseparty was the first Vancouver promotion house to host a whole stage in Seattle (I must give Kudos to Jules Verdict and DJ Orgasm, due to 9./11 my ID wouldn't suffice to cross the border and they did the best they could while I was on my cellphone with them and the promoter, also kudos to Victor for doing his best to get walls for that tent, but the fire dept wouldn't let him use more than one wall and no heater even though a 50,000 BTU heater was sitting inside) These assholes will pick apart everything I say, ever, for as long as they can type. It's a waste of life, and very unfortunate. If anyone wants to hear the real shit, ask someone who knows and was there, not these bozos. |

kinda like all that bullshit you just wrote was a waste of type, right?
dude, if you really didn't care what people say, you wouldn't come on a rave website and try to explain that you don't care what people think. you say you don't want to be a part of the scene anymore? then fuck off. you failed. accept it, and move on. |
