NICE Sushi Restaurants?
My favourite one closed :( Tama on Broadway and Fir
My bf's coming to visit in a month and he's never had REALLY GOOD sushi, so he thinks he hates it! So, I wanna find a good restaurant to take him to, NOT somewhere like Shabusen or Richmond for all-you-can-eat. Suggestions? |

yeah i think so too, it's more of a casual but classy sushi place and sake/jazz bar now, they also yell at you when you walk in. good times. |

Bistro Sakana
Yuji's Kintaro Happa Ajisai Octopus' Garden Kibune Shiro Sushi House Fuji Sushi Koko not in any order, recommendations from a highly rated local sushi chef.* *senna4ever from revscene. he works at bistro sakana & his recommendations never fail. i've only been to 6 out of that list, but this guy is a sushi pimp. and all 6 were fantastic. koko gets bonus points from me, because i've been going there since i was 12. |

if you liked tama sushi, then you may like:
Miko on Robson st. - apparently a lot of Vancouver Canucks have been there... I would say the service is slow, but the food is good. seems to be japanese-owned. usually quite busy, and the place is not very big, so reservations are probably recommended. Shijo on 4th - (or is it called shiro?) - also japanese-owned i believe... but not 100% sure about this one. i like their seared sushi. Ajisai - in Kerrisdale on 41st... gooood! Shota - also in Kerrisdale - good rolls... (I think this place is Chinese-owned however) non-sushi japanese places that are also good: kintaro - on denman near robson... good casual ramen place. guu - two places along robson... one actually on thurlow near robson, the other across from 7-11. - good non-sushi japanese dishes. zakkushi - along denman near robson. good yakitori... and other meats cooked on a stick! i love chicken heart... gyoza king - good casual non-sushi japanese dishes along robson. and apparently tojo's is very highly rated, but i haven't been there for a long time so i can't remember. type all these places on google and you can find the listings' address and phone number.
