Hezbollah has kidnapped two soldiers, 7 other soldiers dead, lebanon wants to exchange captives ( excuse the inappropriate use of the English language here, but like I said, not a lot into the topic and translating Italian news now... ), Israel refused, moved 6000 soldiers to the border, Israeli military airplanes bombed bridges and streets in south lebanon.... this all happened today.

Leader of the Hamas government has now changed his depends from part release of prisoners in Israel to a more hardline stance of ALL prisoners. Things are definately escalating.

God.. what a mess.

Israeli leaders need to start swallowing their pride and negotiating face to face. Instead of lashing out with these psychotic attacks. Not sure how they think killing Palestinian families is going to do anything other than harden the resolve of the kidnappers... and encourage further kidnappings.

On a side note, when I was in London a while ago I was reading my daily Guardian.. they were discussing the issue of the power station that was blown up by Israeli forces, a station that was supplying 60% of energy to the region. Apparently with that power station destroyed, Palestinians in the area would be forced to go back to relying, for 100% of their engery, on an ISRAELI power plant. Putting money back in Israeli pockets.

No wonder Israeli military leaders had trouble coming up with a decent explanation as to why destroying the plant helped their cause in retrieving their captured soldier.

More of an excuse, really.

It seems like Israel is worried about being seen as weak, so if you sneeze at them they pretty much bomb you. At times understandable when you have neightbors like them, but if they didn't have american support they wouldn't even think about half the shit they have pulled.
