I got a membershit at fitness world about 4 months ago, i started going to the gym everyday. Their facilities are great, the equiptment is always clean and in good repair as well as being in ample supply so that you dont have to wait forever to use the machines. I joined up under a special promo, which is what you should do, its almost like buying a cellphone plan, its worth it to hold out for one of their really good promotional sales. (city fido anyone?)

I'm guessing you signed onto some kind of contract? hehe I work for a cellphone company, I know that if you want to get the perks you have to sign on for at least two or three years

how much did you pay to start up and how much do you pay monthly if you din't mind me asking?

OMG I love it! Myra, me and Carrie joined about a month ago. We signed a contract for a year and it ends up being about $54 dollars a month, and the first month is free. With the membership you also get classes for free. I take Bootcamp on Monday's, Step class on Tuesday, Kickboxing on Wed and Sculpt on Friday's I think but that's not even the half of it. There are things like body ball classes too. And they all come with your package :)

Soo much fun there and there is a sauna too and also a ladies only section.

I'm a member, but I totally underutilize my membership. But it's just been too damn nice out this summer to be inside the gym. I pay about $40/month for another 18 months or so, and then it's $20/month after that. The reason for the higher price for two years is that I split the joining fee over two years.

Up front, I believe I paid $65 for the first month, then $40 for the next 23, and then it's $20/month from then on.

Personally i think its crap. The place itself is fine but i think the prices are too high. Signing a contract is shit and even at $45/month and then $20/month after 2 years is too high. IF your postive ur gonna be going to the gym during ur entire contract u can think about it. But thats just my opinion though. I do however like their downtown location cause its 24hours. thats handy

I thought that the prices were high too, but that's b/c of everything that you get with it. Also one thing that I really like there is that there are always trainers walking around seeing if everything is ok. And you can always ask anyone to show you how to do something at anytime. At most gyms you don't get that. It's totally worth the extra price :)

i pay 50$ a month at my gym which is probly the size of the change room at fitness world :) with ghetto equipment.

the prices for what you get seem pretty fucking legit to me.

That was my point :) which is why i said that it's b/c of everything that comes with it.

i pay around 40 a month.. its more a self commitment than anything. i took full advantage of the fitness assesment and personal training thing, which helped me out in a weights program, which i love. but ive been slacking off the past 2 months. if i could choose again i would sign up to a month to month fitness place instead... i think i have a 2 year contract or something. eeks.

40.59 to be exact.. just dont get them to gimmick you into the zone program..sounds amazing at first, but in the end you get a binder full of recipes. and who actually stays on diets!

i go to the one on davie and howe.. i like it cuz it has a ladies only area and when im with my guy friends they can help train me in the dungeon downstairs. its a pretty good facility, and the trainers there defiantely know what they're doing. in the end i still kinda regret it..

No thats true too but once again I go back to the "if you use it" thing. Some people have no need for the "extra" stuff and wont use it.

I dont know i think im just used to the pirce at my gym. Its a rec centre with tons fo equipment, swimming pools everything, basiclly has everything YMCA has but way less people and no contract too. I pay $25 a month so im spoiled actually.

im a memebr i signed up during a special promotion, in my contract i can only go to one of the fitness worlds but for me its fine because its on my way home from work, i pay $29/ month for 2 years then i can go month to month, with no contract.

I have been a member for about 5 yrs or so now and I find there facilities pretty good... I think I started by paying about 37 a month and haved worked my way down to 20 or so, which is pretty good considering the gym I was going to before cost me about 45-50 a month.

Its fucken awesome, $40/mo. is nothing, some people pay that and more for shitty rec. center gyms. I had my membership for years, so now I only pay $20/mo. that's what 3 or 4 drinks at a club downtown, so cheap. Their equiptment is great and there's so much of it. Its a pretty sweet gym.

I like fitness world, it's 5 min drive 10 min walk from my house, free parking, sauna, classes, lots of equipment and friendly staff.

I pay $20 per month and use it pretty much everyday...They always have promos going on too. It is totally worth it in my opinion.

i go to fitness world in langley.
and i love it.
i loved it when i paid $50 and i love it even more now that i pay $18.
it is the cleanest gym i have even been in. ive been on the treadmill several times to look down and notice the cleaning team dusting the machine im running on.

i also really like that i am able to use any location. i can work out with friends dt and with my sister in langley.

if i didnt like the facilty so much i'd go to one of the several 5 mins from my house. the 20 min drive doesnt even bother me.

i signed up in 2000. i started of paying $47 / month. now its $22.47

the initial fee was something around $300.. u can either split that in 24 months (that puts u into a contract, u'd pay that off monthly) plus the monthly fee of $20
or u can pay the fee right away, then u would pay only $22.47 / month (thats with tax included)

i love fitness world cause there are 12 locations, and i can use any 1 of them
