Yes, I will admit, it is not what I'd hoped it would be. I'm getting tired of predicting the episodes. Like with Juliette... I'm really getting peeved at her charactor... I just keep guessing right... god is it ever irritating being right all the time.

all things aside, im more curious as to what the 'temple' is, what ever happened to the massive boat they saw at the end of season 2, or what the fuck the 4 toed statue is/means. |

I'd say it's about as you're going to get with the show. The creators have been interviewed multiple times stating that there is a definite BEGINNING, MIDDLE and END to the show. It just so happens that they've thrown the END into the middle.

im still not convinced that the flash forward was a definite future. to each their own though, i'll guess we'll find out in the end.
and i hope, really hope, that at the end of all this that they release a secrets and easter eggs dvd that clearly explains everything so that people will have a definite answer, rather than having to come up with thoeries that will 'forever' be argued. |

Theory, spoilers may be involved.
This is basically a Messiah story, with Locke as the saviour, Ben as the oppressor and Jacob as God. Locke is discovering what Jacob's ways actually are, which threatens Ben's status as he's the only one that can talk to Jacob. I'm figuring that given his very damaged upbringing, Jacob took him under his wing and made him the leaders of the others. But Locke has faced even more hardship with his father, and never could even kill him himself. To Jacob that means that Locke is a purer, more divine soul. And this now threatens Ben's position. So Ben will do everything he can to stop Locke from actually communicating Jacob's word to the people, as this will undermine his authority. So what is Jacob? I don't know, I'm pretty sure there's a solid mystical element involved - too much religious undertones for there not to be. Like he's the spirit of the island or something. But the way I see it the island is some kind of spiritual penal colony. People do not leave the island until they sort through their personal demons. And depending on whether they choose to face them or not decides whether they leave or die. For instance, Michael had to prove his love to his son so they built the relationship. When he did everything that he needed to, he was let off. That being said, I wouldn't be surprised if something happened in the Real World and Michael made his way back to the island. Signed on for another three seasons apparently. Can't wait to see what redshirts they write into the plotline next year. After a conversation with Jim about this last episode I no longer think they've jumped the shark. They just introduced the flash-forward sequence to make the audience think along those lines. In true Lost fashion, nothing is as it seems. I also think there are going to be two major struggles. Ben vs. Locke, in our Messiah story, and Desmond vs. Penny's Dad, whom I'm pretty damn sure is the money behind the Dharma initiative (which I'm betting is where Naomi is from). Desmond and Locke will eventually combine efforts when the struggle of Jacob vs. Dharma comes fully into light (which I think will be the last season). |

it's been confirmed that Harold Perrineau aka michael has turned down to be on the show again.
also there's quite a convincing theory that jacob is alvar hanso (or atleast som incarnation of him). it basically states that jacob is basically god on the island, and controls the smoke monster. it goes further into detail about the life extension project. pretty much, the smoke monster is a collective of all the dead souls on the island (mostly dharma initiative members), and jacob is protected and at the same time trapped by the ring of 'ash' surrounding his shack. |
